Precision Bullet Group Order

The first group order from Precision Bullets is now closed. We ordered almost 40,000 rds, with 8 people taking part. With these numbers, I'm going to try to make this a quarterly event. I suspect we can easily make the 25,000 min. quantity to get the 10% discount.

The quarterly group orders will be placed on the first day of January, April, July and October. I will start taking orders three weeks before the order dates and will close that quarter's order one week before the order date.

I post more on this as we get closer to the next order date.

Well, I just got home and unloaded a new cabinet to put my soon to be purchased reloader on. I was getting ready to place my order. LOL. I thought that I had a little more time, and I guess I procrastinated while researching reloaders. That will teach me. I'll catch the next one I guess.

Had this order been at the beginning of the month, I would have probably made it in and ordered a case of bullets. Ordinarily, it's not a big deal, but I have moving costs to deal with right now, so things get a little tighter in the budget towards the end of the month.

It's too bad they only have bullets for 4 calibers. I would have loved to have gotten some of these for 9x18 (.365 diameter). At the prices they have for 9mm, they'd be less than half the price of the regular FMJ stuff available.

Anyhow, I'm guessing that makes the next order in October, not July, yes?

I am trying to decide between the Dillon RL550 and the XL650. Any suggestions?

If you can afford the 650, go for it. You can add case feeder and bullet feeder and turn out lots of rounds in a short time.

The 550 is not a bad press at all - some people (like me) kind of consider it near "top of the line" - but the 650 (and 1050) are really top of the line.

I have three 450s - like the 550 but no removable tool head - set up for three calibers. Sometimes you can get them cheap on ebay. They work exactly like a 550 except you have to change dies and re-set everything to change calibers (hence three dedicated ones). Long-winded way of saying you will be very happy with a 550, but if you can afford a 650 you will be even happier with it. Hope this helps.

I received and email from Dave at Precision Bullets. The 200 gr. 45 ACP's will be shipping next week. The remainder of the order will be shipped in 3 or 4 weeks. I gave Dave each person's email address and he will notify everyone when their order ships.

Bullets received!

Notified by e-mail on Thursday by USPS and by David Long (Precision Bullets), that they were shipped. Friday (yesterday) there was a note in my mailbox that they were here and I could pick them up at the Post Office. Just came back from the P.O. and opened one of the boxes. Sent from Kemp, TX on Thursday, arrived in East Bernard on Friday, early enough that the mailman knew to leave notice. Fast!

The bullets are very well / carefully packed. They look great! I have not loaded any yet (just opened the box) but they appear excellent.

My 45's arrived on Friday. The package weights 69 pounds and lady delivering the mail put them on the porch! (I'll add her to the list of people not to mess with.)

As Bobcat said, the bullets look great and were securely packaged. Hopefully, my 125 gr. .355s will be here in the next couple of weeks.

Mine were also on the porch when I got home Friday. Package was in good shape. I transferred them to some small boxes and coffee cans because I did not want to pick up that box again. Bending over and picking up 70 pound boxes from the floor just ain't fun anymore.

I just got in from a week away from home and was told by my lovely wife that there was a really heavy box waiting for me and I was welcome to move it out of the front hallway ASAP.
