Going Crazy

#1

Post by PackinXD »

Is it just me, or does the waiting get worse the closer you get to getting your plastic in your hand??? When I pay $150+ for something, I want it then, not weeks or months later! :mad5 And having to PAY TO EXERCISE MY RIGHT???? THIS IS A RED STATE!!!! Anything to collect a TAX :mad5 :mad5 :mad5

06/07 Took CHL class
06/07 Applied on line as soon as I got home from CHL class
06/09 Fingerprint
06/25 Told by phone it had been printed and mailed
06/26 Status change after checking on-line daily
06/30 Still waiting on plastic :banghead:

So from all the "waiting room" reading I have done, it seams that joining and posting here should make the plastic hit my mail box tomorrow. Hopefully it does the trick!
Whats sad is that I could walk to DPS headquarters faster than snail mail takes. Its about a 30 min drive for me. Wonder if picking it up in person would have worked.
My new alien gear holster is burning a hole on my dresser, and my XD is itching to tag along on my adventures. Also found out what the Wally Walk is all about so I'm looking forward to keeping the tradition going! :txflag:
On a second note: I shouldn't be complaining, I would go nuts waiting as long as some of the other posters I have read about

Whatever you do.. don't get into suppressors or short barrels.

Waiting 10-11 months for a suppressor will drive you insane.

You're doing better than I am though -- I've had my application in since 6/12 and have no status change. So I am three days behind you, but you've had your status change for five days already.

PLASTIC IN HAND TODAY!!!! :clapping: :hurry: :anamatedbanana
Exactly what I figured would happen: Create an account on Texaschlforum, post in the "waiting room" a few days AFTER your status change, and your plastic magically appears in your mailbox the next day! Santa works in July!

Time for the Wally Walk this evening! :patriot: :txflag:

Congrats! If only that would work for me! Still haven't seen the status change on mine.

Of course the one thing that nobody thinks about is how that plastic gets to you. The outgoing mail process is a huge delay it seems, based on my regularly getting mail from DPS and other agencies there - I get mail that has a notation on it for the date it was put into pickup, but actual postmarks will be days later and sometimes even as long as a week. And of course we are at the mercy of USPS a after that point.
