My guess would be on the last day that bills can be signed.rp_photo wrote:So when will HB910 be signed?

Sunday, June 21, 2015 (20th day following final adjournment of Regular Session)
Last day governor can sign or veto bills passed during the regular session
[Section 14, Art. IV, Texas Constitution]

Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?

The biggest problem with OCT deluding themselves into thinking that their actions in any way contributed to pro-2A bills being passed is that they will continue with those counter-productive actions.
Grisham [carrying an AR-15] asks why cops felt compelled to give a warning armed with AR-15s.
Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
Is there a reason why people think this would be signed on the 20th day?
Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
I read the article about Grisham. The guy defines jerk, and I hope no harm ever comes to him, but if he does not soon have an intervention, he is at some point going to encounter an officer who does not share his pacifist outlook. He should really reevaluate his approach to how he incites folks.

Controversial bills are often signed on the last day. The Democrats and the media have made a lot of noise about how Republicans spent all this time on gun bills to the detriment of more important issues. While that's obviously bull (90% of the time on these bills was consumed by Democrats stalling), one way for the Governor to counter that perception among some in the public is to sign all the other bills he's going to sign first.TVGuy wrote:Is there a reason why people think this would be signed on the 20th day?

I see what you're saying, but he hasn't exactly been hiding from these. When HB 910 finally passed he proudly tweeted "...next destination, my pen."v7a wrote:Controversial bills are often signed on the last day. You and I agree on very little, but this happens to be one of those things.gdanaher wrote:I read the article about Grisham.
