Supposedly. But no telling what goes on behind closed doors, and what was actually said.SewTexas wrote:Strauss promised a "vote" didn't he? not just to bring it to the floor?
Just remember, the Republican leadership arranged for them to win. There's a reason this bill was parked for over two months after it came from the Senate, and it wasn't because there were too many resolutions honoring John Wayne that had to be heard first.cprems wrote: ...

honestly, it's just been on as background as I've been working on other stuff. I pretty much feel the same as you.joe817 wrote:mojo84 wrote:I've said it before and I think we are seeing it in action, I don't think campus carry has a snowball's chance as long as Straus is speaker. I've watched the ENTIRE session, save for 2 hours. yWith 43 minutes remaining, this bill is as good as dead, I'm sorry to say.
I'm tired, disappointed, disgusted, and sick to my stomach. I had such high hopes for this bill passing, noting the past pledges and statements from the House & Senate leaders, and beyond. All not to be. This is a bitter pill to swallow.
SewTexas, I wish you success. And with that, good night, God Bless you all, and God Bless Texas.

And now with the passing of SB19, we'll never know since the House made it illegal to record the Legislators at the Capitol without their permission.Jasonw560 wrote:Supposedly. I am well aware that Republicans set this up. Strauss set it up to fail. He needs to be gone!ELB wrote:Just remember, the Republican leadership arranged for them to win. Hey did you hear? We killed a good bill to let people defend themselves.Aggie_engr wrote:Lot's of people meandering about the center of the floor. Wonder what's being said?
Apparently, not the people of his district.gregsauls wrote:Some would actually prefer that Strickland take up flipping cheeseburgers and drop attempting to legislate.
