Re: SB11 Campus Carry House Floor Debate 5/26/15
I'm going to have to write the Governor, Lt. Gov, my Senator and Rep and let them know that what is taking place in the House right now is absolutely disgusting. How is this Democracy? They won't even bring it up for a debate never-mind a vote? Pretty disappointed in this entire process that you can just jam a bill up by throwing amendments onto bills before it and then sealing its fate by loading down the actual bill with a million amendments. The fact that they've had this for some time and decided to throw it onto a midnight oil session just fuels my conspiracy side. The trifecta.

Ya know, I like the way you think !
If the Gov does not call a special session, oc'ing long arms on college campuses sounds like: turnabout is fair play !
Hey, its 100% legal... and a great reason for me to purchase my first AR !

The MDA "people" (and that's the best I can say after trying to have a cordial discussion with them) are still in their seats. At least they are wasting their evening as well.

I suspect their outcome will be better than ours.stealthcrf wrote:The MDA "people" (and that's the best I can say after trying to have a cordial discussion with them) are still in their seats. At least they are wasting their evening as well.

Let's not join the ranks of OCT. It won't do our cause any good.juno106 wrote:Ya know, I like the way you think !

I dare say, that the open carry of long guns by those morons is one of the reasons we're in this predicament.

I seem to remember that a bunch of average Joe's, with no political experience, and no money, were able to recall two state legislators in Colorado, and force a third to resign in lieu of being recalled.
No excuse is acceptable for the failure of SB11, and those responsible need to be held accountable...

The only ones who derailed OC and Camp Carry are Republicans who are supposed to strong 2ndA supporters.

I actually drove to HEB during this bill, and bought 8 bags more popcorn because the bowl was getting low (I also feed it to the doves, so other birds can eat from my birdfeeder)K5GU wrote:Looks like they're going to go all night. Go pop some more corn!

Mr. Cotton, what are the possibilities of the House adding campus carry to HB910?

Please remember that the Speaker gave them the ability to Chub SB11. He had as much to do with the killing of campus carry as the Democrats who are taking advantage of his stonewalling.CoffeeNut wrote:I'm going to have to write the Governor, Lt. Strauss is more interested in representing the UT chancellor than the people of Texas/his district.
