Those are some great face-to-face prices. Wish I lived closer. Good luck with your sale.

Those revolvers are tempting. Questions....
1 - When you say DAO for the .357, do you mean that the hammer cannot be cocked and fired in single action?
2 - Is the .22 also DAO?

Looks like the 101 can be thumb-cocked then fired or fired uncocked in double action. The Annoyed Man wrote:Those revolvers are tempting. Questions....

A DAO SP101 has a spur-less hammer.The Annoyed Man wrote:Those revolvers are tempting. Questions....

So if I swapped out the hammer for one with a spur, then I would be able to cock and fire single action?J.R.@A&M wrote:A DAO SP101 has a spur-less hammer. The Annoyed Man wrote:Those revolvers are tempting. Questions....

Yes. I have both versions. What I don't know (and what is practically irrelevant) is whether the factor spur-less hammer is different internally, i.e., missing a notch that allows or prevent it from being cocked at all. But that is not what you are asking. The Annoyed Man wrote:So if I swapped out the hammer for one with a spur, then I would be able to cock and fire single action?J.R.@A&M wrote:A DAO SP101 has a spur-less hammer. The Annoyed Man wrote:Those revolvers are tempting. Re: WTS: Ruger Revolvers, Ruger P95, Mossberg .410
Thanks for jumping in RoyGBiv and J.R., I was at work this morning and couldn't reply sooner. I'm glad to see all the interest in these!
DAO from the factory for the .357 does in fact mean that the spurless hammer cannot be cocked and then fired in single action mode - it won't "catch." I looked into having the hammer changed out some time back - from what I remember, Ruger won't sell you a new hammer for liability reasons, but if you ship them the gun, they will fit a new hammer with spur on it for about $100 that will allow you to fire in single action or double action mode. From what I read at that time, if you're mechanically inclined, you could simply swap out the factory spurless hammer for a normal, spurred hammer yourself and get single and double action functionality (whatever parts allow it to catch and fire in single action mode are part of the hammer assembly). The hammers are hard to find, but I have seen them on gunjoker from time to time, and you might also come across someone on a forum who wants to trade their normal hammer for a spurless hammer. The last one I saw on gunjoker had a buy it now price of $125.
The .22 SP101 has a normal hammer with spur and can be fired either single action by cocking the hammer or double action by just pulling the trigger without cocking the hammer.
