She was CLEARLY implying that her son killed her husband specifically because he was able to buy his "arsenal" in a big box store.

In a way, these MDA people were doing the same thing the OC radicals were doing: acting so silly, they erased their credibility and didn't even realize it.

According to the Austin police affidavit, Alexander Scott Ervin, 20, attacked his father, 58-year-old Ray Scott Ervin, with a metal pipe wrench and a 3- to 4-inch folding knife at their home in West Austin
So was she testifying to make me turn in my monkey wrench and pocket knife or have to have a license? I'm confused as to what this has to do with firearms.

If these people got their way and guns were banned, where would it stop? Knives, bats, axes, etc.

Another baby step closer. I feel better than I did last week.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

Police chiefs get the ear of a few senators, get them to pressure the committee to remove the amendment or they won't vote for the bill causing them to not have enough votes to pass... I don't' know that this is what happened, simply my own expectation, but I don't find it hard to believe at all.

As others have stated, the amendment isn't necessary and ultimately doesn't do anything. If LEO want to stop you they will find another reason to do so. The whole thing was just a way for Dutton to play the race card anyway.

The Senate would not have voted the bill down, it would have removed the Dutton/Rinaldi amendment as a floor amendment. That would have provided the Democrat demigods a golden opportunity to waste a lot of time predicting the end of days because of open-carry. Doing it in the committee denied them that opportunity.

I just saw a commercial on TWC news channel urging people to contact their legislators and tell them to be against Campus Carry.

So HB910 was voted out of the committee and now goes to the senate floor for a vote. The Texas legislature site still lists the bill in the committee and I can't find any mention of when it will be voted on. When does this information get updated?

It should be by later today. I believe the committee reports from the prior day are read into the journal after the adjournment of the full body of the Senate.

Good work!!!!

Could she have misrepresented under oath?
Re: Public hearing witness oath.

Step 5 "Acknowledgments" of the hearings witness testimony registration system includes the following
disclaimer which must be read and acknowledged before proceeding to register as a witness testifying
in a House or Senate committee hearing:

[Checkbox] "I acknowledge that by signing or marking this document, I am swearing an oath to tell the
truth, and nothing but the truth. I solemnly swear and affirm, under penalty of perjury,
that the information entered herein and the testimony I may give in connection with this
official proceeding are true and correct.
"

That particular testimony starts around 33:30 in the following archived video:

I sure wish they would enforce that. I'd have to listen again to see if she crossed the line or if she just said it in a way to allude to it and let the listener draw the conclusion.

Either way, I think it's deceptive.
