He is only a small part of the problem if things don't get done. There are ways around him lets see who has the eggs and vote accordingly next election.

While I'am keeping hope...I'll say this, I'm incredible disappointed in how things have played
out thus far. Whatever or whomever is holding up these bills MUST be held accountable. Since these
bills have already been voted favorable in both chambers, there must be something the other side or
another person wants in order to stop holding them up. I just don't get it, the table was set, the timing has
never been more right.....and yet here we are! This sickens me, it really does. I don't know what else
to think, I've never be more disappointed in the political process, than I am right now. :mad5

I will be in Austin ~5/14 - ~5/22, to attend a professional conference.

Is it worth playing "hooky" one day, head to the Capitol, and try to visit some legislators / staff?

I understand the need for 'cannot say yet'. But if these do not pass, can names be named and deeds be told so that the voters can reward and punish appropriately?

No. I'm not even going to Austin. Alice and Tara can and will do anything that will help. Everyone in Austin knows the backlash will be strong if this logjam isn't broken and leadership doesn't stop acting like junior high school children.

What about 910? It's done with the house, now can Patrick pick it up in the Senate and get'er done?

I think we'll get open carry. It's the even more important amendments and possible amendments that are in peril.

This leads me to believe that it has become a matter of which chambers bill will go forward (chest pounding :nono: ). The amendments attached to HB910 are hurting it, or at least one of them is(IMHO). The Backlash will be significant, no doubt. Keep us posted Charles....thanks!

If our constitutional rights are being regulated, I say that carrying legally in more places takes priority over open carry. As such, I feel that campus carry is more important than open carry.

In fact, I wish open carry was not the issue it's been the past couple of years as it only fuels the unfounded arguments and fears of those that opposed campus carry.

Open carry means nothing to me really, I can still carry concealed. What's important is my children, friends and coworkers being able to protect themselves while at work or in class.

Personally, I'm more disappointed in the process than I am in the individual bills. The legislature seems to be a joke right now.

I flip flop on the merits of OC, but I'm in total agreement that campus carry should be available. I also think 30.06 needs to be reexamined to determine some form of requirements for posting. Being uncomfortable with guns shouldn't give a location the ability to deny a right.
