22 years old
Student: soon to be teacher
Also soon to be married in May
Chl for 6 months
Gear: Taurus pt 111 g2 in an alien gear holster. Just picked up a belly band that can fit the taurus but will be more suited for the sig p238 I will be buying shortly.

Forgot to mention I sell guns at academy so I love reading real feedback from people who own guns so if you feel a gun is above par or not worth mentioning let me know so I can help the customers make the best decision. :txflag:

Whoops, didn't see this introduction area - I just lurked a little and dove in. Hope that wasn't taken the wrong way.

I'm 59, seems more like 29, I'm very slow in competitive shooting but my accuracy isn't quite so bad. Broadsides of barns should quiver at my near approach, and I believe given a bass fiddle I could hit most any bull in the butt if he would stand still and pose.

I shoot a Colt Series 70 Government Model I've had since about 1977, and we have a working arrangement. I don't claim expertise. She hits the targets if I just sort of hook the reins on the front sight and let her do her work.

During the week, I'm a Unix admin wishing I were out on a lake. Weekends, I'm a Unix admin wishing I were at the range.

It's a life, but I'd trade it for more sailing and shooting.

And all the time I'm a Unix admin with deep respect for freedom, America, and our best ideals.

I appreciate your hospitality here. Nice place.

Well, looks like I did just like "treadlightly" above. Didn't see this section, so just joined the forum and started slinging some stuff out there without proper introductions. My apologies.

As for me, I'm an old man, still working my day job (hopefully gonna fix that this year maybe). Been shooting for many years, but self-taught, no formal training (so watch out!). Fortunately for me, I've always lived out in the country, so I can literally just step off the back porch and start blastin'. Went to an actual official shooting range for the first time in my life just a couple of weeks ago.

Started getting interested in self-defense shooting lately. Like I've said before, I'm too old to take a beat down, and too fat to run away, so had to start looking at other options. Anyway, other than the serious self-defense type stuff, I mostly just like to hear the bang, and feel the kick, and see stuff blow up. Good ol' redneck fun, I guess.

Other than shooting, me and Momma like taking trips on our Harley. That's lots, of fun, too. Plus, hangin' with our 7 & 9 year old grandsons (that's the BEST!). Plus, I'm still working full time. Interferes a lot with the stuff I WANT be doing!

I don't expect to be posting a whole lot, but I do browse & read & lurk and whole lot. Lots of good information here, and a lot of my questions have already been asked by someone else, so I just poke around till I find what I'm looking for, normally.

And I can tell already that this is a great forum. I've been on a couple of motorcycle forums, and there are some REAL attitudes on some of those. It can get real ugly, real quick sometimes. Haven't seen that here the short time I've been here. And believe me, that's a good thing!

Anyway, looking forward to learning a lot of good stuff from you good folks here. And maybe every now and then I might come up with something worthy to add to the mix myself.

Treadlightly - Welcome to the forum. It's not a requirement to introduce yourself. I don't remember if I did or not. ;-)

Appears I have missed this thread myself:

35 male, Architect
Married to an amazing woman that puts up with me, my quirks, and the demands of my profession.
CHL holder for 11 months: Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm subcompact/HK 45 Compact

Been shooting since I was young enough, it required my old man to help hold the Remington 1100 with me in order to shoot out in a corn field up in KS. I missed a lot of clays that day... "rlol" Hooked ever since.

I enjoy deer hunting, trap shooting, and making sure that the evil paper targets at the range don't give me attitude, or get the best of me. I'm always looking to improve. However, don't expect to see me on the next season of Top Shot.

I joined for CHL information and to build/add to firearm knowledge in general. It has proven to be very helpful and insightful.
