Best conceal holsters for the bigger guy
I finally received my plastic on 10/11!!!
I am a bigger guy and was wondering what are the best holsters that are available.
Any input would be appreciated.

I like my Crossbreed Supertuck for daily use, and a Remora for occasional use or quick trips to the store.

Re: Best conceal holsters for the bigger guy
Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC is my favorite. More important than a holster, especially for a big guy, is a good gunbelt.
Not a work belt, a heavy leather belt, an Amish belt, or anything sold as a substitute. The belt should be designed, marketed, and sold as a gunbelt.

Re: Best conceal holsters for the bigger guy
My experience has been that a tuckable IWB (inside the waistband) like the Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC works well for those of us of stout persuasion. One of the front-low carry devices (like the SmartCarry http://www.smartcarry.com/shop/index.ph ... t_list&c=3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) should work well, too. But, this winter, I'm going to try a shoulder holster for my XDs and LC-9s (hopefully both, if I can afford it.. if not, then the LC-9 will get the new holster) for those times when I'll be jacketed indoors and out.

Re: Best conceal holsters for the bigger guy
I'm a bigger guy (6'1", 258#), and I use an IWB hybrid holster:
http://www.firearmholster.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
He's a one-man operation, so expect a few weeks or so to complete your order, but he's very accommodating. You can also remove the clips, and use the slots to carry OWB (I haven't tried that yet).
What really made the difference for me was going up one waist size for my pants. I normally wear a 40 waist, but even with a slim pistol, like the XD-s I carry, things were just a little too snug. FWIW, I use a Hank's Amish CCW belt, and it's been working great so far.

I tried the hybrid holsters like the MTAC but ended up with an all leather Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 (IWB). I like it far better and it doesn't wear on the pants like a hybrid does.

You might want to take a look at N82 tactical holster.

I've got an Aliengear belt holster I like and I'm well fed.

Re: Best conceal holsters for the bigger guy
As a "wide" guy, I can tell you that the holster is only part of it -- you have to dress for the holster. Be sure to have a sturdy belt. One and one quarter or even one and one half inch wide is great. The double layer belts, like those available from Crossbreed, make a huge difference in how the weapon rides. And finally, if you want to stay concealed, don't keep checking it! Make sure you are right before you leave the house, and then leave it alone.

I am one of those larger size guys.
#1 belt (in my opinion) is: http://thebeltman.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
#1 holster (in my opinion) if carry OWB (which is most comfortable, but not as concealed as IWB): http://www.alessigunholsters.com/cqc-s-1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I like the below for IWB:

You can not beat Tucker, only hope to equal his stuff and that is no easy task.

Re: Best conceal holsters for the bigger guy
Any of the hybrid IWB holsters is good. I prefer Alien Gear but, I own and use Crossbreed, Old Faithful, and the now defunct Kholster. I find all to be comfortable and quite usable. OWB holsters seem to be a more personal thing to me. I like and use a lot of Don Hume holsters, High Noon, and my most favorite is my UBG (Ugly Bald Guy) Regulator. I bougt it to fit an M&P 40 and have found my G19 and G17 along with my XD also fit. Belts, yes a good belt is a necessity. I am retired so I don't have any dress code at work to meet. Therefore I wear a Wilderness Instructor belt 90% of the time and pocket carry a snub nose revolver all the time in a Mika's pocket holster.
