Have you tried something like the procedure described here:J Wilson wrote:Anybody know where someone can get a takedown spring and detent out of the lower receiver. Not mentioning any names, but some bungling idiot lost his somehow.

?
If that doesn't work, the direct method is to back off the castle nut and back off the endplate. The castle nut is probably staked to the endplate. You will need a good armorer's wrench and, maybe, a punch undue the staking. If you are like me, you may want to have a spare castle nut and endplate just in case a gremlin gets in the mix.
However, it is infinitely better to put a new takedown pin into the lower without removing the detent.
Nice of you to help your buddy.J Wilson wrote:Anybody know where someone can get a takedown spring and detent out of the lower receiver. Not mentioning any names, but some bungling idiot lost his somehow.

You should buy your buddy a couple of extra ones. I know because my buddy has a bunch of them in his den that he has never found.J Wilson wrote:Anybody know where someone can get a takedown spring and detent out of the lower receiver. Not mentioning any names, but some bungling idiot lost his somehow.
