Westernfield M550CD 20g pump Shotgun.

I have recently aquired the Westernfield M550CD with a broken Action Slide, The gun is old has been used and abused.
Having aquired the part to fix it and looking at it, I have decided it needs a more than major overhaul. I took the magazine tube off and descovered 2 one quarter inch wooded dawls in the spring, My question is this Are these needed other than to limit the numer of rounds loaded.

They are as you suspected "plugs" to keep total round count to three while hunting migratory birds. i.e. Waterfowl and doves. Not needed if you don't hunt those species.

I have the same gun. Got it 20 something years ago and it still runs like a top. Mine has a single action bar rather than the duals they run now. Other than that, any Mossberg accessory will fit with no issues.
