Just received my plastic! now what?
Kinda a joke but really, now what? after months of waiting I finally got some plastic in the mail
looking to you more experienced men and women for some good advise! I'm good and clear on the laws, experienced with firearms but new to CHL. any words of wisdom for a self admitted rookie?
thanks all!
Sam

The normal break in is called the wally walk. Its where you carry into a Walmart or equally busy big box store, walk around and shop, making sure you reach to the top shelf and bend to the bottom shelf. This should give you a lot of confidence.
By the way, congratulations on the plastic.

Re: Just received my plastic! now what?
I received plastic yesterday. Today I built a deck to a friend and made several trips to home depot. I've been thinking out my first carry for years. I can't help but worry about printing. Just have to carry more and I guess I will forget about it.
Re: Just received my plastic! now what?
haley0826,
Good for you!
Now, don't worry about "printing".
It's one of those things that people who're new to carrying seem to needlessly worry about.
Yes, in some cases they'll be a bulge. Not to worry. Unless the bulge is distinctly pistol shaped you're good to go.
One of the other concerns is if there's a bulge won't people inquire about it and if they do, heavens what will I say...?
Once again, don't sweat it.
I've carried for well over a decade with a bulge (in the winter - in the summer I use an OWB zippered pack))and NO ONE has ever inquired regarding either of the two carrying choices.
If, however anyone has the motivation to ask such a personal question you are under NO obligation to provide them an answer.
So, relax...

Advice: NO... Nobody is staring at your concealed gun. Stop worrying.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!

Also, the law has changed, there is no more "intentionally failure to conceal".

Cover it carry it and don't over think it. My first carry, I was nervous and kept looking around thinking I was being watched.

It's like everyone told me,
"It will become easier each time you go out".
You will get accustomed to it.

Just got back from a day around town>>>
several stops including in-n-out, wally word, gander, ect. one thing has become VERY clear! NOBODY has any type of situational awareness what so ever. it's really pretty sad. and absolutely nobody looked twice at me, I do conceal well but I'm sure at one point I "printed". but like I said, people just go about their day without a care in the world.
it's very nice to know I'm not one of those people! it felt great to leave the house with my sidearm!

"but I'm sure at one point I "printed""
That's a bit odd sounding.
What do you mean?

Congrats on a successful outting! It's amazing to see how many people just look like they are on auto pilot when they are out in public.haley0826 wrote:Just got back from a day around town>>>

I was going to say "Yes, you are printing. Your shirt is hung up on your holster, and Yes, everyone is staring at your back and whispering to each other."RoyGBiv wrote:Advice: NO... Nobody is staring at your concealed gun. Stop worrying.
