Chicago to videotape all gun purchases??!

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Yeah I've not studied beyond the news item and the "retention requirement" might be an issue for the shop owners depending on how long they are supposed to keep the video--could be a lot of tapes and/or hard drive space.

My off-the-cuff reaction to this is that if it is presently the case that no gun shops are allowed in Chicago, then if someone wants to open same here are the new rules. Fine, but we all know that rules are something that slows-down only law-abiding citizens i.e. the bad guys are still going to get-what-they-want.

If I lived in Chicago this would be a "don't care" for me because I have already found other places to shop. Maybe it'd be fun to have some "real local" gun shops to browse at, but I'll bet with all these requirements the new shops will not be the cheapest places to buy...

Should there be any gun shops in that area, they should all have a box just inside the door, out of camera view, filled with those old black framed glasses with the big nose and big moustache. Make every man or woman put on one before they make a purchase. Let the idiots film all they want to.

"The dog ate my hard-drive"

Works for the IRS, it should work for gun stores. :smilelol5:
