Signs posted along a residential street where people have been driving 70 instead of 25.

Maybe Katy is near Cedar Park

Um, speed bumps?

I like what they call "speed humps". When they're designed and built right, you can drive over them up to the speed limit without issue. At 5 over, they will loosen your teeth.

How does that work? I guess you factor in speed and determine what a "comfortable" shock/spring compression rate is?

Strangely I was attacked on this board for remarking that I've been in neighborhoods where if you ran over one of the kids you were going to have a very bad day.

well you shouldn't have been, if someone hit a kid any human being would naturally feel that way.... anyone who says they wouldn't have obviously never been in that situation....

CPD's comments inferred that individuals would be beaten near to death in his neighborhood if this happened, not that people would think that.

Ultra, read my post again or go back and read CPD's post in the Detroit thread. There is a difference between thinking/feeling and actually doing. CPD's post stated someone WOULD BE BEATEN as if it was a fact if they ran over a child in his area. That is why he said he was "attacked" in the other thread.

Okay i see what you're saying, but at the same time i understand what cpd was saying too. I can't guarantee that would be my reaction, but at the same time i couldn't guarantee it would not happen either.....hopefully i'll never have to see :cheers2:

My thoughts on the video:
1. I think the "children at play" signs would work just as well.
2. Last I checked ATV were off road vehicles and were not legally allowed on the street.
3. If people want to walk the neighborhood they should put in sidewalks.
4. If it's that big of a problem with people using a neighborhood as a bypass, petition the appropriate authority to become a gated community.
5. If your dogs weren't ratting the streets they wouldn't get run over.

I don't see how the signs could not be seen as threatening. They might as well say, "Hit my kid or dog and I'm going to kill you".
Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid.

Wouldn't depend on if the driver was at fault or the kid? If the driver is speeding or driving recklessly I could see it getting ugly. If the driver was obeying the laws and the kid entered the street, I would consider that an accident be more understanding.

One reaction does not fit all situations.
