I have a lot of family members in Arkansas - they would trade gun laws with us in a heartbeat.

How is their castle doctrine? VA has great carrying laws, but our castle doctrine is weak. If you have to shoot to defend your life you will need a good lawyer.

I'd have to ask about their castle doctrine.
The differences that I am aware of:
Gun buster signs have force of law to prevent CC
Church carry is a no no without permission from church officials
You must inform a home owner before entering armed

Overall you are very limited in where you can CC in AR. From what I understand, justification for use of deadly force is also much more restrictive than TX law.

As the article provided earlier states, Open Carry is not legal in AR and car carry without a license is much more restrictive.

IANAL and don't presume to know whether this guy really knows what he is talking about. But it does sound logical to me.



I think the bottom line is that unless the Arkansas Legislature changes the law, it will eventually be decided (interpreted?) in court.

That will certainly be the prelude to a "test case." Then we'll have to see what the court decides, then wait for the inevitable appeal. If I understand correctly, the intention of 746 was to eliminate penalties from an accidental exposure of a gun in a vehicle. I'm surprised the legislature doesn't rewrite that section to do what they originally wanted.
