“But AR-15s Are Only Weapons Of War,” They Said. ANOTHER AR-15 Used In Self-Defense.
BG got off the first shot. GG the second. First one missed. Second one didn't.

NC Man uses AR-15 in self defense
The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison

. uditory seclusion due to the adrenaline keeps the noise from causing issues. Same with vision and muzzle flash. Been there...all I heard from my 45 was a faint pop.rbwhatever1 wrote:Good story and good for the homeowner! I wonder if his ear's are still ringing...
It could be very different if the muzzle was right next to his head.

Adrenaline might cause you not to notice the sound, but the physical damage to one's ears would likely still occur wouldn't it?

I honestly dont have a definitive answer. Both of my situations were out doors. I dont think tjere would be any SERIOUS damage unless the muzzle was right next to his head.
Years of shooting IDPA indoors there has been a couple of times I didnt hear the GOING HOT command and didnt have my ears on good till after the first shot. It hurts for sure but again...no immediate damage noticed.
