Loading The Ruger Mk II Mag

I have a couple of Ruger Mk IIs that I have been shooting for many years. I made this video this afternoon to show the technique I use to hold down the follower without injuring my thumb/fingers. I am sure there are many other ways to do this, so please share your technique.

I'm still trying to figure out the disassembly/assembly on one that I inherited.
I would love to shoot it, but I'm not going to shoot any gun that I can't disassemble and clean.

I've found that holding my tongue against the inside of my left cheek, standing on my right foot, while attempting to whistle with my ears, is a valid technique.

Aside from that, there's usually a decibel level around me when reassembling the Mk II that would not be out of place on an airfield, until I remember the proper sequence of reassembly.

There is actually and aftermarket part now that replaces a bit. Instead of all the weirdness, you unscrew one screw like a Browning Buckmark does. If I were shooting Rugers again, I'd get that part BEFORE I even acquired the pistol.

I read something about it in a gun mag - maybe even the NRA mag, not sure which. Seems to work well.

MagLULA (UpLuLa) makes a mag loader for .22. I have the 9mm-.45 version. Definitely the best thing I have ever used. About $30.
