All this reminds me that I have a hard enough time keeping up with who makes my guns, much less their serial numbers. This kinda flew under the radar, so I don't know if you saw that Cerberus Capital Management--the same firm that recently acquired Chrysler from Daimler-Chrysler--has purchased Remington Arms for an estimated $370 million. Cerberus also purchased Bushmaster not long ago.
Makes you wonder about a new marketing ploy: the Chrysler Defender...a pickup with a built-in, full-length console safe for quick access to your Remington 870 12-gauge and handgun, another safe mounted flush in the ceiling for your Bushmaster M4, carry slots for your tactical flashlights and extra ammo, optional factory installed ceramic armor plating in the door panels and firewall, special lighting package including remote controlled spotlights and, of course, a reinforced frame with a ramming cage on the front.
Just kidding; just kidding...

(Not about Remington being purchased, though.)
