Initial application: 3 Feb 14
Documents submitted online: 10 Feb 14

I also called Friday, 7 March for my 30-day status update, and the lady I spoke with said "they were still going through January's applications," so take that for what it's worth.
This came up overnight:

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Proof of Special Condition : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

So this system does update overnight because I checked around 730pm or so yesterday. 40 days from DPS receipt of materials to background review....should be soon now.
I've been under review for my background check since last Friday, and was wondering what the hold up for me is since most other February applicants seem to have gotten theirs completed in a day or two. I have a clean record (save for a ticket for doing a California Stop at a stop sign), been in the same house for the last five years, and recently passed an instant background check when purchasing a handgun within the last two weeks....should I be concerned?

I don't think you should be. I've had some traffic tickets within last few years.

I've moved around a lot the last few years, only a few months at current location.

Didn't have any problems

Trashy,

I'll add that my wife submitted hers on same day, never had a traffic ticket in her life or any other issues at all and her status hasn't updated all.

Like I've said before. There doesn't appear to be any real method to how they do things.

The only part I did online was the application. I mailed everything else in because I didn't realize the paperwork could be submitted online.
so how long did it take for you
nevermind I looked at the timeline on your earlier post and I guess mine is still sitting on someones desk
41 or 42 days - I didn't look at the site the day before, so it could have updated then. Hopefully yours will get off someone's desk and into the mix soon. The wait times between people are crazy, IMO.
you were spot on BSL I checked this morning which is day 43 and site finally updated from "waiting on required materials" to "manufactured pending" so evidentally it wasn't on someones desk but being processed so they must not update site as you progress
No, they don't update the site, based on everyone's posts. Congrats!

It updates around 6am. I had 3 updates. I checked them every time before I went to bed, I checked again when I got to the office (530), no updates

every time I checked at 630 the update appeared.

I'm rather confident the updates happen between 530a and 630a

Online App and Docs submitted Feb 11

MAR 24 - Online Status Updated

Mar27- Recieve a letter stating that I was missing my photo & needed to send copy of out of state license

MAR28- Called CHL department and spoke with Rebecca this morning to explained to her that when I took my CHL 100 course I had an out of state drivers license but before I submitted my application I went and got my Texas DL in order to avoid the passport photo and having a non resident CHL. She acknowleged that I was correct and that I did not need a photo and she corrected the mistake on my app. I then asked how much longer and she stated that they would have to reprocess my application and it would be at least 3-4 weeks

I knew it was too good to be true when I saw my status updated and read about others getting their platic within a week or so of their update. Now I must wait 3-4 more weeks because of a mistake that they made. It would be alot easier to cope with if I made the mistake but since it was totally out of my hands it really sucks. Goes to show their quality control. How they made the mistake is mind blowing because my texas DL # is all over my application and it's what I use everyday to sign in with and check my status.

Best of luck to yoy guy's I guess this is my punishment for being born in California and not the great state of Texas!

Back to checking my status every morning lol :waiting:
