I have a Son-In-Law from Belarus. He immigrated to Canada and is very concerned with the situation in the Ukraine. He has told me that Russia still maintains considerable influence in Belarus.
He and my daughter came to the U.S. and stayed with us for quite some time. He really enjoyed me taking him to the range with me and the chance to shoot my Kimber and back-up mouse gun. He really liked Texas and remarked how friendly people are. He also thought it was great that anyone could buy and own a gun without permits and licenses from the government.
I guess that the laws concerning buying and owning a pistol in Canada are so convoluted and prohibitive he is not even going to try to own one.

God Bless America, and please hurry.
When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

Ukrainians Want to Arm Themselves to the Teeth
http://www.vocativ.com/world/russia/ukr ... arm-teeth/
"According to Uchaykin, pump-action shotguns and AK-47 ammunition are completely sold out in Kiev. “People understand that they can only count on themselves and that is why they try to buy as many firearms and ammunition as they can,” he says, speaking to me via Skype video with the help of a translator. He was wearing a black shirt with a picture of a pistol that read (in Ukrainian), “Free men own guns. Slaves don’t.”
The Ukrainian Gun Owners Association, now 5 years old, is taking advantage of the current political climate’s uncertainty to push forward legislation that would amend the country’s Constitution to include something like America’s Second Amendment and expand existing gun laws to allow concealed carry of handguns."
The article - in English - is very in-depth w/pictures.
"He was wearing a black shirt with a picture of a pistol that read (in Ukrainian), “Free men own guns. Slaves don’t.” - I like that dude's sense of fashion
