Mt coworker...? Open Carry is legal in Montana. So, who did get attention from nearby tables and why, do you think?
I am pretty sure he mis-typed the word "my" as "Mt" the T is next to the Y. :smilelol5:

You reckon?

We've spent the entire last six (6) summers in a half dozen or more OC states and we've never noticed (gawked at/been panicked/terrorized by) anyone in an OC configuration. OC is no big deal...where it's legal. You either do or you don't....it's called freedom of choice. :patriot:

Maybe that sounds too much like "pro choice" for Texas Republicans to allow it to pass.

Or maybe they're not as pro gun as they want us to believe. Straus keeps getting reelected as Speaker of the House with his platform of killing open carry and campus carry in dark back rooms where it won't affect legislators' sham "A" ratings. :grumble

Murdering unborn babies under the guise of "choice" isn't remotely close to the open-carry issue.

I agree 100 %.
Nor can I think of any circumstance where it would be a laughing matter.

Pretty sad what some folks see as humor. Maybe it was simply an opportunist working real hard to take a cheap shot at Texas. Either way, I am not impressed.

This isn't the first time said poster expressed a level of disrespect for the people of our great state. I cannot imagine why anyone would want to hang out on a forum full of people from a state they hate so much. :???:

it seems like she is more bothered by the carpetbaggers and Yankee sympathizers trying to keep remnants of reconstruction era gun laws, not the Texans pushing for more gun rights.

I wonder why you feel so threatened by Dori calling a spade a spade.

This sounds like typical all or nothing liberal rhetoric rant to me. What has killed open carry has been more the open carry loony advocates than any legislator. When you have a person who comes in 'demanding' that the legislator or any other official put open carry at the top of their agenda and make threats of retaliation if they don't, then I don't blame the legislator or other for stepping away. Being associated with these bomb throwers is poison for a person who is trying to ride the fine line in the political arena and do as much good as they can for their constituents. Open carry is not the only thing they have on their plates and if something gets seasoned with too much salt you tend to push it to the side and consume the rest. Using a little finesse and working in unison with those with the power to introduce and pass legislation is the ONLY thing that works. That is why we are so lucky in Texas to have Charles Cotton, Alice Tripp and the others who work so diligently to keep these folks on our side in helping us gain ground in the 2A realm.

Keith,
The all or nothing rhetoric is very present on both sides of the isle. It only accomplishes alienation and more digging in.
Care to take a stab at which political party most OC loons identify with?

I am not talking political party. I am talking all or nothing demanding personalty period. The old adage you catch a lot more flies with honey than vinegar totally applies here 100%. You come in and tell me that you are going to force me to do something and I will immediately be on the defensive, whether it is something I would like to do or not. In fast, I will more than likely NOT do that thing because of the adversarial attitude that has been displayed by the party wanting it.

Sorry, I took the word "liberal" to be associated with politics. I didn't know that "demanding personality" means liberal.

It doesn't. I was targeting the liberal portion to the OP. Should have said 'leftist liberal' ;-)

Threatened? No... there is nothing threatening about a troll. Since you feel Dori is correct in the constant insults at texas, I will tell you like I told Dori. if you don't like Texas... why hang out trying to make "friends"?

03L,
Just because people criticize a part of our government (local, state, or federal) why does it have to mean that they're criticizing the state itself?
Based on your response, you're taking a perceived insult to the state pretty personally. I don't think that's what was intended.

And I don't thing suggesting that people leave is the best solution for the state. If you like things exactly the way they are, then anyone wanting to change anything should leave.. Some us might disagree or might want to have a respectful discussion.
