I had a piece of sheet metal protruding from my side. When I got to the hospital I was to be in shock and unable to speak. The Dr. kept asking me what was wrong with me instead of reading the tag. I finally had to point to the tag to show him I was unable to speak due to severe shock. He looked kinda put out, looked at the location of the metal and said 'Well, that is into his spleen and he's not gonna make it'. :eek6 I said 'Well, gee, thanks for nothing Doc!' and he just walked off. :grumble
Sorry Keith, but this is hilarious. "rlol"
The other thing was I knew the Doctor very well and thought at least he would have given a little extra effort to save me. :banghead:

Administration, First Responders and students would learn a lot more from this drill if everyone sat down following the drill and discussed what was done and why, what was not done and why, and genuinely listen to the opinions and suggestions of all concerned.

Among other topics, instead of just “writing off” students caught in a hallway, float some ideas as to how they can try to survive other than “playing dead”.

This would also help turn a frightening experience into a learning experience in the minds of the students.
God Bless America, and please hurry.
When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

Well, I guess I have a different opinion than you JMRA and that's ok.

My kids grew up on military bases around the world, they are used to seeing exercises all the time and have even experienced threatcon delta. They're used to seeing full gear including chem warfare suits. We've unknowingly participated in the exercises. We drove around on base and forgot the exercise was going on that day until the car in front of us got taken down by SP's. Kids adapt well to different scenarios, ALL kids, no, but in my opinion most do. If this program was enacted as a school wide program as they do for drunk driving called Shattered Dreams, then it would be necessary to protect those special needs students or sensitive students from exposure to this in the same way, as they do in this program.

Sadly, the school shooting or mass shooter scenario is becoming a common thing, we've got to prepare ourselves and our children. Since you and I both do, what about the parents that don't?
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

I guess I am showing my age, but we used to do the "duck and cover" drill for a nuclear attack. We would hide under our deck...then they would show they movie of a nuclear weapon going off and ALL structures were taken down to the slab. :confused5
