Obama nominates anti-gun radical for Surgeon General

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

At a hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee last week, Sen. Lamar Alexander asked Dr. Murthy about public comments on firearms, such as a tweet from before the 2012 president election that said, “Tired of politicians playing politics w/ guns, putting lives at risk b/c they’re scared of NRA. Guns are a health care issue.”

Mr. Alexander, the ranking Republican on the committee, told Dr. Murthy that “Americans have a First Amendment right to advocate the Second Amendment — or any other amendment. And the Second Amendment is not a special interest group, it’s part of our Constitution.”

The Tennessee senator added that, “If your goal is to make guns the bully pulpit of your advocacy in the surgeon general’s office, that would concern me.”

Dr. Murthy sidestepped the questions about his gun-control agenda from committee members throughout the hearing.

Of course he sidestepped the question. Those of his ilk are expert at evading, changing the subject and shouting down public discourse. If things don't go the way they want, they evade and try again from a different angle. They know that if they admit things up front and are honest, many will disagree with their agenda.

Just like his ambassadorial appointments of political cronies, yes men, and those willing to seel their souls to advance his agenda. Ambassors that can't find the country on a map, don't know the form of government of the country or that hire "Ladies of the evening" probably using taxpayer money,

Let's see, a 36 year old Doctor....normal time line, graduate undergrad at 22, graduate med school at 26, just about the shortest residency is 3 years so finish residency at 29 and 7 years later you are Surgeon General. Hmmmmmmm, obviously no other, more qualified Doctors in this country or at least none that are Obamacare advocates.

Forget the anti-gun issue. This guy does not meet the qualifications to be the Surgeon General anyway. We all know Obama is going to pick people who support his beliefs (or have the $$ to donate) but at least make sure they are out of diapers. This guy needs more potty training before he should be Surgeon General. I wouldn't even make him a 2nd Lt.
