I was at my local Walmart the other day and they had everything but .22 and .22 WMR. I even scored a few boxes of .380 for $13.95! There's no way I'm lining up at 7am to grab a few boxes of .22 so I'll conserve what I have.

Yikes!

I remember when a cup of coffee or a fountain coke was 5 cents.

 A few years for sure...I think all the Gibson's stores (at least in Texas), closed down over 20 years ago...I know our local one and the ones in Waco & Temple did.

Yup, more than 20 years. So I have been hoarding for a long time.

Gibson's has been gone a long time. There was one in Texas City and one in La Marque I think.
I have some .22 WMR JHP ammo I bought from Globe Discount City in 1966 that still has the $2.34 sticker on the box. The last box I bought was 13.99 about 600% increase in 47 years ain't all that bad I guess.

There's still a Gibsons in Weatherford with a pretty decent gun counter in the back. Prices are decent too. I bought a threaded barrel 22/45 there about a year ago.

Just to be sure since you're in MO - you're talking about Weatherford, Texas, right?
Edit: I just had to google it and I answered my own question. Weatherford, TX and found out there's one in Kerrville, Tx , too!

Who knew?!

I thought they were long gone. :headscratch

I bought lots of reloading supplies from Gibson's back in the day. Bullets, primers, powder....
