So....How many do you have?

#1

Post by Paul's Shield »

Being new here and currently working on getting my CHL within the next few months I've went ahead and purchased an IWB kydex holster and have some hybrids along the way, however I know for a fact that I will be buying many more to suit different needs. How many? Not quite sure, but I see this as an endless accessorry hunt. And I'm not talking about comfort or anything like that but just how many do you have?

To me it's an obsession kind of thing. Little ones, big ones, natural ones, plastic ones, leather ones, aged ones, fresh ones, wrinkled ones, used ones, new ones, loose ones, tight ones...........you get my drift. :evil2:

I have maybe a dozen. I only use 2. One of the dozen is actually a duplicate of one of the two I use regularly.
Once I found what worked for me, I quit spending money on holsters. Saved up for a new pair of boots instead. YMMV.

Welcome to the forum. :cheers2:

I haven't counted in awhile but I bet I have more than 25 holsters. I am thinking I might open a holster store one day.

Its seem like holsters are like coat hangers, you start out with just 1 for each jacket and before you know it there are a dozen hanging there. :eek6

I have at least 3 per gun. I buy the perfect one and then I find the one I really need.

I have 7 holsters (I think!)

3 (or 4?) IWBs from various manufacturers
2 pocket holsters (1 for SW Bodyguard, 1 for XDs)
2 OWBs

1 use my original Crossbreed Supertuck for IWB and 1 pocket holster for the SW Bodyguard 380)

The others I got because I "thought" i needed them, or people said "they were good", but I haven't found a need for a new one.

I've got 10 at last count. Someone told me I'd have a bag full of holsters one day but I didn't believe them at the time. Is this what its like for women and shoes? They just appear.:

For my current carry gun, just one. However, for my first carry gun I think 4-5. Since I found the one I like, when I switched to a different gun I just bought the same holster for it.

Flashbang for my Colt Mustang (hated it), "Marylyn" for the Colt (little Kydex under the arm-not crazy about it but it works when I have to wear a dress), IWB/OWB from Hopp Custom Leather for my PPS-by far my favorite, and a Remora for the PPS (got it to wear with sweats-doesn't stay put).

I only carry one of two guns, a xdsc9 or a keltec p3at, so my collection is small. I have 4 holsters including a belly band for the Springfield, and 3 pocket holsters for the 380.

Definitely not trying to be funny .... but, could you elaborate on why you liked or disliked the Flashbang &
Marylyn? My wife & daughter both don't like IWB because they wear tight jeans etc. (it's a losing battle trying
to get either to buy a size larger). Were the bra holsters "lumpy" or too uncomfortable or ????
There was a gal at the TSRA show in Mesquite that demo'd the Flashbang, and until she whipped it out, I had
no idea the blue gun was stuck down her shirt. A man's point of view is useless in this matter. So, if you'd be kind
enough to expand your likes/dislikes, it would be much appreciated.

to stay on topic: I have a bag full of holsters. Where I'm going and what I'm wearing decides which holster/gun
combo gets carried. Although 90% of the time it's .45acp in one of two holsters (black or brown; I like them and my belt to match my
shoes..... I know....no one sees it....just habit and a personal quirk).

You might feel a little better if you just thought of the others as "back-up holsters".

for the better part of 2 years, i've had a remora and a iwb hybrid theis. recently i've added a galco sof-tuck and a winthrop owb pancake. the sof-tuck is mainly for appendix carry but it doesn't get used much because i still haven't found 'the spot' that works for all day carry. i have one day in the books with owb and it's pretty great.

I have about a 10 but the only 2 I use now are my crossbreed and remora holster, they both fit my needs.
