Me too. I have worked for two Japanese companies so I am curious how they would respond to your call.

A little birdie told me the dealership put up the 30.06 sign after they heard about ATDMs little incident with his XDS. "rlol"

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :smilelol5:

I haven't decided what to tell them yet. It will take some thought, otherwise it's not worth doing.

Just FYI, Toyota USA has very little bearing on what happens on toyota dealerships in this part of the country. if you want to rattle some cages, you'll want to reach out to Gulf States Toyota. they're the primary distributor for Toyota in Texas, and are based in Houston. They can give the dealer all sorts of grief that Toyota of America couldn't care less about.

I agree, and I did ignore it, but it really frustrated me on principle. A major dealership in the heart of Texas, albeit in a very liberal city, puts up a 30.06 on every single entrance. I disagree gun free zones anywhere, and the sign in a car dealership makes less sense than in most other places.

Toyota of Rockwall, put up 30.06 (valid) signage on their doors a few weeks after they opened.
I was in for an oil change, and I went to the Cashier and spoke with her to pass on a message to the owner. (he was not in)
I went back a month later, and the signs were (and have been) removed.

I think sometime customers just need to squawk enough and bring it to the owners attention.
Toyota may install all that signage as a matter of course when they build the dealerships.

I am addressing the "squawking" issue right here: http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=71720" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I strongly recommend everyone read that post, so that all of us could make a concerted and massive effort on that front.

In Texas, the laws are such that the manufacturer has no say about policies such as this in dealerships. Dealerships are privately owned and they are run the way the owner sees fit or in some cases such as this store which is large enough to support a general manager the store policies are most likely set by the GM. Gulf States Toyota is a distributor of vehicles for a five state area. For all intensive purposes they are the a manufacturer. Again, no real say in store policy. So this is not a "Toyota" issue, it is an issue at a business owned by Red Mccombs which happens to be a car dealership that sells Toyota's. The General Manager of the store is the place to go with the issue. His assistant's email has been posted already in this thread and I have quoted the info above. I would suggest you contact the GM's assistant through e-mail to voice your concerns. If you don't feel satisfied with the results afterwards then explore other options that are available to you such as one poster mentioned in social media.
