I suspect mine is in a bin of mail, in the back, on the bottom. New mail comes in, gets set on top and/or in front. They grab a bin from the top/front to process, repeat...

Submitted my application for renewal online on 01/02/14. Whats the wait time on renewals these days? When I got my CHL in 2009 I waited over 6 months to get it and that was after harassing my State Rep with a million emails :fire

Unless things speed up anywhere from sixty to ninety days.

Yeah you might be waiting awhile. Mine took 84 days, but there were several holidays in that mix. So it looks to beat your last record of 6 months.

Fairly new to the forum!

Took CHL class on 1/4.
Submitted application with DPS on 1/5.
Fingerprinted on 1/8.
Emailed in CHL-100 via this link (https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) 1/8.

Am I missing anything?? Not a very clear cut and dry process. Let the waiting begin!

I have never posted in the "waiting room", but I have been secretly reading everyone else's posts for about 2 months. So glad I'm not the only one anxiously waiting for not only the plastic, but even just a status change. I am currently on day 43 of waiting and tried to call today to make sure all forms/paperwork/etc. had been received. I saw on earlier posts that some have waited as long as an hour on the phone in the past. When I called today, I got an automated message saying they weren't accepting phone calls due to the high volume of callers. So much for even trying to verify all paperwork has been submitted :/

Welcome to the Forum. 8 weeks is longer than it should take, but not unusually long. The hard part is when your status changes to "Mailed" about a week before it is actually mailed, and a week and a half before you finally receive it. That's the longest week and a half there is.

Glad to see it's not just me!
Applied online 11/07
Fingerprints 11/12
Submitted forms by postal mail 11/13
After not hearing anything, submitted forms via website 12/31. Still no change to status. Actually got thru on phone today and was told they are swamped since the law changes in Sept, and I should check back in another 30 days if nothing has changed.

Can we start a support group for everyone waiting? I submitted 10/17/13, and I think I may be on the verge of a breakdown... :totap:

Maybe we will get them this month. I bet you'll get an update before next Friday if your anywhere in October.
