STI Without the ugly rollmark?

#1

Post by RoyGBiv »

Anyone know if STI will make me a gun without the model name rollmark?

I find the size and font of the model name rollmark prohibitively unattractive.
No problems with the other rollmarks.

Just working on my 2014 list for Santa

Can't you buy an after-market slide sans logo?

STI is already a bit spendy without having to buy a spare slide.
Plus, I DO like the "TX" rollmark.

I'm sure if you called them up they would gladly do it. They are semi-custom.

I've seen some new ones with a smaller rollmark on gunbroker.

For some reason this thread reminds of guys I see whose clothing and caps loudly announces, in big bold print and logos, the names of the manufacturers, blissfully (apparently) unaware they look like walking billboards.

STI is very responsive to email inquiries. You might check with an STI distributor: Brazos Custom, Dawson Precision, or Shooters Connection.

Well... at least STI replied very quickly... (less than 10 minutes).

Q: I was wondering if it would be possible (and at what cost) to order an Escort (or possibly Guardian) in .45 without the "STI Escort" rollmark? I like the Texas rollmark on the other side, but I find the size and font of the "Escort" unattractive. Thanks.

They do cost a little more, but you could get a Dan Wesson. It wouldn't have the Texas logo, but their slides are very clean and they will do some custom mods for you.

Here are mine:

^^^ Wesson's CCO and your Guardian are definite contenders.
Unfortunately they require about 40% more pesos to procure. :cryin

Thanks for the suggestion.

Well, maybe we can get together one of these days & you can put some rounds through mine.

That should get you hooked! ;-)

It seems like a Dremel would remove the blemish pretty quick if acid etching is too slow or too much work.

Here is a solution for that nasty blemish for less than $4.

How about going with an SVI Infinity and have whatever you want on the slide. I love mine!
