They're short staffed and flooded with renewals and new applicants. I sent mine in October 17th and I still haven't gotteny first update. So you're not the only one, I know there are people receiving updates that sent in theirs after us and that's just because they have no order of doing things... or so I hope.

Welcome to the forum. I don't think you need to worry as many others in your time frame are also waiting. The change in class time is the culprit. A lot of people who would have taken the class prior to Sep 1 waited until after to take advantage of the shorter class time. It also appears that people who weren't willing to commit an entire day of training under the old law have come out in droves under the new law.
If you mailed in your paperwork (you could have emailed it) on Oct 26 (a Saturday), it may not have arrived at DPS until the end of the month. Given that there has been 3 major holidays since that time, I wouldn't expect anything for a couple more weeks. Some have actually received their license in the mail before getting a system update.

We'd submitted everything but fingerprints on-line on 10/6, then FAST'ed 10/24, and no updates yet.

AFAICT reports of applications getting lost or otherwise being rejected are nonexistent; at least, I haven't seen any here. So we wait...

I filed my renewal on Oct. 27. On Dec.3 I called and finally spoke to someone. She said it was in the system but had not been started on yet. She also said that she would contact the tech assigned to my application and expedite it. It took a total of 53 days for the website to change to mailed. I can only imagine how long it would have taken had I not called until I spoke with someone.

You won't see a status change until mid Jan at soonest. They're only on early-mid October now.

I remember when I first joined this summer and asked what all the comments about beating the 9/1 rush meant. I guess those fears came true. So glad I got in ahead of this madnes. I don't think I have the patience to wait longer than the 10 days it took for mine to arrive in the mail.

Also as an FYI to new members, there are specific sub-forums for each month (at least as of now) to commiserate with fellow applicants during the month you applied in, so you can get a better handle on when others applied and how long it's been taking -- which is to say, months, as I'm at 80 days after mailing in the documentation myself, and only got a change in status online in the last two or three days.

I think they have 90 days before it's considered late according to the law, although some people say 120 days based on a difference in interpretation of the statute.
