A couple years back, while at a gun show, I saw some cool stash/lock boxes that fit down inside the console between the seats. They even had some that looked like a simple compartment for throwing change and pens. The idea being if a BG broke into the car/truck and looked in the console, they wouldn't think a lock box was under the compartment they were looking at.
My guess is the great socialist republic of Ohio would consider this an illegal hiding place. As long as the state continues to give out welfare to the majority of it's sheep, the sheep just wonder around stupid.

Very interesting. The article doesnt state if any residue was found or if the arrested has a history of drug running. The law does appear to be way out there, maybe even overboard yet similar to parafanelia laws. I know no wires go to any hidden compartments on my car, yet there is a factory compartment on my car that one could consider hidden.

Another fine example of big brother utilizing "The War on Drugs" as a way of violating rights of all Americans. I agree with the post above that suggested the next step would be to make it illegal to have a hidden compartment in ones home. Sad state of affairs indeed.

The so-called "War on Drugs" is proving to be more costly and a bigger sham/loser than was the war in Viet Nam....with similar results.

The Ohio law explicitly excludes factory compartments as being "hidden". Only aftermarket or custom compartments could be considered "hidden".

Humans have been hiding "stuff" from the dawn of time to keep themselves alive because their have always been those that wished to steal it or destroy it. Food, livestock, precious metals, guns, coins, currency, alcohol, children, families, anything of value that the Plunderers wanted has been hidden throughout history. Hidden from the Roman Legions. Hidden from the Nazis. Hidden from the British Empire. Hidden from Genghis Kahn. Hidden from the US Government. How dare you hide stuff. Now the State has outlawed hiding places.

When those that wish to steal from Society are the same ones that are elected to enforce the Law what is one to do? Voting hasn't worked in the last 100 years because those elected "human politicians" have created Law's that allow themselves to Lawfully steal from Society. New Laws against Property Rights and the means to protect Property are being written and we do nothing. Who's working for who?

Even in a rational society , politicians are elected and re-elected first on their published views on specific issues and then on their demonstrated actions while in office. When was the last time you saw a politician running on a platform of restraint (from proposing / enacting more laws and repealing / amending pointless ones)? As long as there are no term limits for legislators and the judiciary, more and more laws will be enacted and courts will continue to "legislate from the bench". It is human nature to strive for something better -- typically seen as wealth and privilege (power) -- and the Framers did not go quite far enough to ensure the longevity of our exercise in legitimate self-government against the aspirations of men. Power corrupts, and it is truly a person of character who would walk away from the power willingly. IF Americans want a government that emphasizes responsibility and individual liberty they (all of them who feel this way) must take personal responsibility to ensure that their representatives truly represent this in actions as well as soundbytes and use the voting booth as a tool for real change while/if that option remains.

my 2013 F150 has tons of compartments not readily seen, from a cursory look see.
all but one came that way from the factory
OH my lets not even look at my motorhome
I dont understand why its wrong to have a hiding spot in your vehicle
I do understand if your using it to run illegal items, that the act of the running of illegal items is whats well, illegal.

Ohio could pretty much say the area behind and under your dash is a HIDING spot
