Put me on his distribution list, too!The Annoyed Man wrote:I'll let him know you guys like it. The blade/shank is stainless steel. That darkness on the blade in the picture is actually just a reflection or shadow. In person it is bright stainless. The grips are micarta which he makes himself, and in different colors. He gave one to his boss for Christmas with red/black micarta grips that are stunning. On the one in the picture here, he used a coping saw to cut grooves in the grips, and then filled them in with black-tinted resin to make the black lines. He's also making kydex sheaths for them, although he hasn't got a finished product to show yet.

We mostly buy for the kids. I did get an electric pressure cooker. Broke it in tonight. I love it. No stress!

We just had Christmas yesterday due to family logistics. BTW - Very nice knife, TAM! I got a couple of books, "American Sniper" and "Happy, Happy, Happy" from my wife. Also got several Duck Commander and Duck Dynasty T -shirts from the kids. The Annoyed Man wrote:I got a book, "We Who Are Alive and Remain: Untold Stories from the Band of Brothers" and a Duluth Trading Co. "Men's Fire Hose Iron Range Lined Work Vest" from my wife, some "Christmas Money" from my mom, and a custom made knife made by my son. The knife isn't finished yet, but when it is done, it will be similar to this one, which he made for himself not too long ago:

That's a 4.75" stainless steel blade.

A pair of Lucchese boots. All I need now is a bolo tie and a Stetson and I'm feeling like a real Texan again.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

he's developed his talent! I showed my husband, the knife lover, he's very impressed, said it's really nice!

Re: Anything good under the tree this year?
My husband gave me a James Avery necklace. We went out shopping in Kerrville with friends on Friday, I got to pick out what I wanted, then he took us to a quilt shop I love and I got to shop there, then he offered to take us to a yarn shop in Comfort and we got to play there.
He got a Keurig and I made him shave soap in a mug with a brush, he loves it. I made those for all of the men in the family...they all seemed excited about them.

There is nothing like a good strong cup of coffee, a hot shower and close shave to brighten a man's spirit in the morning.SewTexas wrote:My husband gave me a James Avery necklace. Re: Anything good under the tree this year?
Well, I got a few odds and ends this Christmas (new shirt, new ballcap, a "visual encyclopedia" on armored fighting vehicles)...and a $50 Cabela's gift card from my son. So, I went and got myself a new 3-9x40 Cabela's brand scope for my Ruger 10/22. Its boresighted with the laser and now awaiting some time to get to the range to finish dialing it in.

Some more examples of my son's knife work:
The white handled one is in the previous picture on page 1 of this thread. The red handled one is the one he made for his boss, and the blue handled one is for his boss's teenaged son, who works with them.
This one he made for his wife's brother-in-law who is a cop and an avid hunter:

Those are nice! The bottom one is my idea of the perfect deer knife, much like the old Buck 116 caper (no longer made) I use. BTW, Does he temper the blades himself? The Annoyed Man wrote:Some more examples of my son's knife work:
