It the past, a political action like yours might have gone unnoticed by many. But this is the age of social media and such political statements are quickly shared. The impact will not just be with all of the CHL holders who see your sign but also with their families and friends who share their values. Given increased competition in places like Flower Mound, is it really a good business policy to drive away customers, and everyone that they are connected to digitally?

South Austin location NOT 30.06
I drove by there yesterday afternoon. My wife really likes the store and I have shopped there a few times myself, so it helps keep "Mama" happy. As we all know, if Mama ain't happy, NOBODY is happy.
Any way, it might not be a corporate decision, or if it is, it could be the South Austin location is a slow responder.

Over 48 hours and still no response to my missive to them. I'm really beginning to wonder.

Sprouts in Keller Posted
Wife went to Sprouts today in Keller 377 & North Tarrant 2003 S. Main. She had already left when I remembered about this and asked her to check on her way out. She did and it is posted. She called the manager when she got back (Lucas Larson) and told him of our decision to shop there no more (we spend anywhere from $50-$100 a week there) until the signs were removed.
He was sympathetic, and indicated he did not agree with the sign posting but it was corporate policy. He suggested posting our dissatisfaction on the Sprouts Facebook page.
We are also sending a letter with a couple of recent receipts to Corp HQ

I know some of you would boycott any business that posts such a notice, but it is my opinion that I would continue to shop there until/if they post a proper 30-06 sign. The existing sign is meaningless, so I'll walk right on in. They very well may be anti-2A, but legally they have not demonstrated they can keep me out. I would not send any kind of letter until they do post the proper sign. Why wake a sleeping dog?

I was just there to try go get the name of the manager for my letter. I looked at the sign. While I didn't get out my ruler to measure the 1" letter height, everything about the sign that I saw appears to be compliant and, therefore, it IS a legal sign. It appears that they did their homework. I would never carry past that sign and left my gun in the car.Dreamer42 wrote:I know some of you would boycott any business that posts such a notice, but it is my opinion that I would continue to shop there until/if they post a proper 30-06 sign. Re: Angry at Sprouts!
I'm not exactly sure what you are getting at here? The sign they posted was legal in every respect, the height was proper, contrasting properly, and exact wordage. I think they have already done their homework anyway. The main reason I gave them the URL is because I want them to see that we aren't some backwoods hicks who complain, but we have the will and the means to get our message out there.Vol Texan wrote:Sorry it took so long to respond, but I have only one challenge with the OP's letter. It was good until it got to this point:
Yes, I understand that it's a personal choice how we respond to those who post a sign, but one mantra that is common among us is "don't educate the antis about the law any more than we have to". True, the "don't educate" them idea usually means, "don't tell the person that hung a gunbuster sign that it has no validity to us - just let them think they've done all they need to do and carry on anyway". But I'd like to suggest that it could apply in this situation, as well.nitrogen wrote:I also want to let you know that I will be telling all my conceal-carry friends to be sure and no longer stop at your stores. I have started this by reporting your location to a website that lets others know of businesses that don't appreciate their business. You can see your current entries here:

(Edited for grammar.)
If you're trying to make another point, I apologize because I've missed it.

Re: Angry at Sprouts!
DOUBLE POST!
Wow, I went to the Sprouts Facebook page, and there's a LOT of talk about 30.06 on there! I'm really proud of all my fellow gun nuts.
I'm also disappointed that Sprouts has yet to discuss any of this publicly, though.

I don't have a facebook account (but my wiener dogs do strangely), but told the wife about this. They are openeing one behind us and she was looking to go to it when it opened. Hopefully she will help stir a ruckus.
