If I were leading this group my "props" would be exclusively wooden guns. What better way to symbolize a "lost right"?
Having working some good protests, I would not want to be assigned a gig with an armed crowd with their history of antagonists looking for an incident. The majority of the crowd will be normal law abiding people that are exercising their God given right of free speech . They are also people that don't want an incident. But then you have the antagonists and even the anarchists that just show up to create an incident. It only takes one or two to incite a full blown riot, and a riot with guns is not a good thing. The anarchists are usually easy to pick out because they show up in a mask.

Just to be the advocate. The anarchists will only be a problem with a LEO with an ego. Remove either or both and it will be a true execise of free speech. How did I do?

Good point. They should use nothing but k9's for crowd control- k9's don't have egos and anarchists are smart enough to vacate the area when they see k9's

I support OC; however, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about doing anything.
Dressing like "Duck Dynasty" rejects, brandishing (yes, I said brandishing) guns and taunting the police is not the right way to win OC support of the voting public, the police or the legislature, IMO. OTOH, TV cameras love it and the anti-gun liberals see it as substantiating their position that guns should not be allowed on the streets...or anywhere else.
It is all in the presentation. Perception is reality.

If they want to do a protest or demo for open carry they should use a holster on the belt with a rubber demo type gun (red, blue, green, pink, purple, yellow) in it. They have them for almost any type handgun. I bet a lot of people wouldn't even notice it.

True, but they do have excellent negotiating skills.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016. God Bless America, and please hurry. When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

The ability for us to open carry our pistols, or more open carry rights in general?
Good question. I believe they want what some call constitutional carry. Anyone carrying anyway they want without government interference. I assume they are ok with those prohibited from purchasing a firearm also being prohibited from carrying but not absolutely positive about that.

It is ironic that here in TEXAS you can open carry an AK or AR but not a Glock. IMO that makes no sense.
