I think this is a positive outcome....if it took the entire Democrat Party, the entire Republican Party, and a fake Libertarian to beat a TEA Party candidate by less than 3% of the vote, then the TEA Party candidates are a lot more viable than anyone expected....

I guess that's one way of looking at it, but didn't your Momma tell you not to cross your eyes like that when you were growing up?

Never smoked anything. Daddy was a preacher and raised me right.

Establishment Republicans refused to support Cuccinelli. That's why he lost. It appears the Republicans are working on perfecting the circular firing squad.
:iagree: That and the huge young, unmarried woman demographic that went for McAwful in a landslide. Those who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it and the GOP has got to find a way to deal with that group.
Oh, please forgive me for this one...as soon as I read about the huge, young, unmarried women, I thought about the last line in this scene from The Princess Bride:

There was no shortage of huge, young, unmarried women in the Metroplex last time I was there.
I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

When he is done everything is on the table. I have family both here and there, but my parents are in VA so it is a hard call. Still.....we might just pack them up and take them with us! My dad has been jobless for years and my mom makes less than 20K a year so I am certain they could do better in TX.

Thank you btw, that is most kind of you.
It sounds like all of you could do better here. We have good job opportunities across the board for folks willing to work. The only downside is you can't open carry yet. If we can get the radicals to stop for awhile, we may be able to get that too and make this the perfect sanctuary for those trying to escape liberal oppression.

You know I consider TX superior in gun laws because of your excellent castle doctrine. It is a great thing to be able to OC, but at the end of the day if I ever have to use my weapon it would be nice to have the law a fair arbiter. OC is wonderful. A solid castle doctrine is much better. We will see. In one year everything is on the table.

It doesn't do you so much good to have a gun when self-defense is illegal. In the UK there are still farmers with shotguns, but if they defend themselves with one they can count on more prison time than the thugs who attacked them.

Interesting take:
The upshot is that voters are so annoyed by Bloomberg and his arrogant, busybody attitude, that it looks like he is no longer able to buy his way past his own negative image. As predicted several weeks ago in this column, Bloomberg is becoming, not only his own worst enemy, but also an enemy of everyone and everything he supports. He is becoming a pariah in politics – a self-funded poison pill, killing all that he touches. He has started funneling money through his various front organizations, but for now, the money is still easy to trace back to him. I suspect he will soon make a greater effort to hide his contributions, much as George Soros has done over the past decade. No matter. We and others will be watching and making every effort to expose his expenditures and defeat his causes.

Good news for VA. The legislative committe appts are out today. The one in charge of gun control bills is a second amendment supporter so we will hold our ground here in VA for at least another 2 years. He will kill any and all gun control bills. Sometimes just holding your ground is an accomplishment.
