Well, if you don't believe in miracles, this may change your mind. My wife, who I could not even get to come to the range with me, pop firecrackers or even pop balloons around her, has decided to "carry"!
I have been carrying for awhile and she never made a deal about it one way or another.
I think it has something to do with the latest craziness at the college and all the useless deaths that have caused the education community to get very pro active, at least in our part of the woods anyway. She mentioned that a few of the teachers at her school were all talking about arming themselves for not only their own sake but for the students protection as well. They realize they can't come into the school with a gun but our Gov. Perry is trying all he can to expand where we can carry in Texas.
Whatever the reason, I am happy as heck about it. She has gone to the range and shot my guns. She has found that she has very few issues as long as I supply her with 30 dcb, liquid filled, earmuffs to cut out the noise factor. She likes the way the Beretta FS 9mm shoots. However it is too big for her to carry.
We went by the gun shop and she saw a number of guns. She settled on a Taurus Millennium Pro 9mm. She has decided that is the one for her. My question is, are they quality as I have heard? I see they are very reasonable, price wise, and have a "kick butt" warranty for life. Does anyone have any experience with them that should cause me to advise her against it? Of course, she is a cosmetic nut and loves the two tone gun. It is the black slide and tan frame. She doesn't know the difference between a double action pistol from a boat anchor and could care less as long as the gun goes bang when it is suppose to.
The thing I am happy about is I have another shooting partner. My daughter, who I shoot with alot, is on vacation out of town and when she finds out about this she is gonna "freak out"! It's gonna be funny. She will also need some advice on how to carry, ie: fanny pack, etc. keeping in mind she teaches in a school and will have to be taking it on and off a lot off premises.
Anyway, I am just wanting to make sure my "much better half" is happy with the new interest and I don't want to do anything that will turn her off.

I bought it for my daughter along with Paxton Quigley's "Armed and Female" (and several others).



My daughter is a voracious reader, and I thought it would be a good way for her to gain additional knowledge concerning Concealed Carry in a short amount of time.

Glad to hear your wife made such a wise decision.

The reviews on the web seem to be mixed. If they are correct, it sounds like when the pistol works, it works great and the owners love it.

But if it's a bad one, there are problems going into battery, failure to extract, and even some slide failures that don't allow the slide to fully cycle.

It may be worth your/her effort to spend a little time looking at some of the reviews before putting your money down...

Congratulations on bringing another citizen into the fold :grin:

Well, thanks for all the help but I am now in charge of damage control.
She informed me this morning that she had thought it over and called the salesman who showed her the gun and bought it over the phone! I will have to rely on their super warranty and, hopefully, customer service if we have a problem. :deadhorse:
Normally she is pretty lucky so we will see what happens. After all, she got me, right? :oops:
Bottom Line: If she is happy, I am happy. Funny how that works. :smile:

Well the important point is she's taken the step. Odds are the weapon will work fine...it's not like every one of them is flawed.

If there is a problem, it seems Taurus stands behind their warranty, it will just cost you ~$35-$45 to send it and a month or two before it gets back. By the way that's based on what I've seen on the boards, not personal experience...

Of course the place she bought it from may be willing to take care of it for you...if there's a problem...I certainly hope not :grin:

Good luck and get her to start posting here. It would be nice to hear her opinions as her experience grows.

Thanks and I will tell her she has an invitation.
We picked the gun up today and are going tomorrow for her course. She will use my Beretta FS for the range test and then probably shoot up a box with her new gun. She is like a kid with a new toy. Pretty neat! She named it "Josephine"! :lol:
She will probably be on here soon to "brag" about how many paper Bad Guys she has "taken out"! :roll:

I wonder how many other folks on the site have names for their pistols? It may be an interesting question to ask...

That's great to hear! Tell her to sign up--she will find a good number of ladies on the forum. She'll learn a lot.

Well, she took the course today. This was her second time to shoot a gun.
On the firing line she was cool, listened to the instructor and followed the commands perfectly.
Now, here is the problem. She has her target on the wall next to mine. The problem is she beat me by 3 points. :boxing

I give instruction& one time my wife beat me on a drill & did it w/ my carry weapon. She still reminds folks of that one. :lol:

Mom's last renewal she shot a 246. That will keep sonnyboy on his toes too. Wife is up in for renewal in about a yr.

Well good for her! I'm glad she got to take the course and it was nice meeting the both of you.Maybe we can get together some time at the range and kill some paper.:smile:

good for the wife...

my wife was a staunch PETA member when we met.. a couple of months (3 lessons) later she shot my 45 Lw Commander for a 240 score on here CHL test.

just don't make them mad at you....

Hey you all need to send your ladies to PSC's Ladies Class on the first Saturday of the month at 9 AM. We meet rain or shine. We do mini seminars on rainy days and shoot on all the good days.

Have them bring their guns, holsters, and belts. If they don't have any of the just mentioned we supply them.

Hope to see them on the range!
