Who carries their gun with a full mag +1?
Just curious who carries their gun with a full magazine plus one in the chamber. I have always just entered the mag and racked the slide.

Why would you want to be 1 round short?

I carry a single stack...7 in the mag and one in the chamber.

I carry as many rounds as will fit.

Full magazine if it will fit without excessive force.

A P7M8 magazine has only 8 rounds to start with, and 9mm at that, so every round counts. Pop in the magazine, rack the slide, drop the magazine, add a round to it and reinsert.
It's a terrific little pistol, especially for lefties, but it does have some drawbacks.

Max cap. for me!
The laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.

I started have the +1 the other day. I guess I just was not thinking about it that much..My gun is rarely ever not chambered.
Wow, I work at a gun store and I have not heard or seen that pistol in a long time.JALLEN wrote:A P7M8 magazine has only 8 rounds to start with, and 9mm at that, so every round counts. Pop in the magazine, rack the slide, drop the magazine, add a round to it and reinsert.

Re: Who carries their gun with a full mag +1?
Some weapons don't like the full mag plus one. Be sure and try it at the range to make sure the weapon feeds properly after firing the first round. This is not a brand specific issue. Things that can affect this are magazine type, age of gun, combination...ect. For example. My PM9 will allow me to get away with this nine times out of ten but that one out of ten will not feed the round properly after firing the first round. I have experienced this with other handguns as well. That one out of ten may be the occasion I am defending my life.
All I am saying is that if you are stuffing that magazine to max capacity along with one in the chamber, test it like that multiple times at the range and don't assume every magazine you put in the same gun will work the same. Even the brand of ammo may have different results. Test the complete package you carry with at the range before putting your life on the line with it. Then repeat the test every time you go to the range.
Since many have posted about having a round chambered, I will say I always carry with a round chambered. Stuffing the magazine to capacity on top of this is what I am talking about.

Yes plus a spare mag. The spare is good in case something happens with the first mag and you need to switch, and it balances the weight on the belt. Plus its anice extra bit of security in case the zombie games start.x007x wrote:Just curious who carries their gun with a full magazine plus one in the chamber. Always full mag +1 in the chamber. Along with an extra mag in the back pocket.

Never full mag +1. And I don't carry an extra magazine on my person. I like to live on the edge.
