CNN has an opinion piece at http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/08/opinion/o ... hpt=hp_bn7" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; where they are posting anti-gun, anti-gun owner and anti-Bill of Rights opinions. I tried to post the following and it was deleted. I tried two more times and it was deleted both times. Seems all they want to post is comments that agree with them.
We also need to restrict violence and murder in the movies and video games. It desensitizes young people to violence. The movies and TV used to show violence used for self defense. Now it’s ok for revenge. It is also portrayed as explicitly as possible. Movies seem to compete to shock the audience as much as possible and people stand in line for it.
Video games are non stop killing and some young people play them hour after hour day after day.
Stop trying to put all the blame on guns and gun owners and look at the violent society being produced.

About 600,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year–that’s 1 in every 4 deaths. Does he suggest that we force people to eat healthy and exercise? Not to mention that about 20,000 of those "gun deaths" are suicides. If a disease killed more than 30,000 Americans each year, including lots of children, we would be united in our resolve to find a cure.

Re: CNN OPINION
They need to make having a heart illegal. That will eliminate the 600,000 deaths a year.

Well, there is that pesky First Amendment. I don't want to preach imposing restrictions on one of the Bill of Rights on one hand and preach no restrictions simultaneously on another.VoiceofReason wrote:CNN has an opinion piece at http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/08/opinion/o ... hpt=hp_bn7" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; where they are posting anti-gun, anti-gun owner and anti-Bill of Rights opinions. What I had in mind is controlling what movies children see and what video games they play.Redneck_Buddha wrote:Well, there is that pesky First Amendment. What really steams me is they were posting antigun and anti-gun-owner comments (some totally off the wall) and would not post my comments.
Judging by the fact there were no pro 2nd comments at that time it appears they may be screening comments that don’t follow their way of thinking.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

Re: CNN OPINION
The 1st First Amendment protects from the government infringing on free speech. There's nothing wrong with putting societal pressure on the movie and game makers to do the right thing and limit who they promote and provide their product with gratuitous sex and excessive violence to.
