Interestingly, I've never heard that as a complaint of DAO guns before. Learn something new every day :tiphat:
Yeah, I thought that "Everyone's" description was a little broad. When I first started carrying with my CHL, I carried a cocked and locked Sig 1911. Hard to imagine a striker trigger getting lighter and crisper than that.
Cocked and locked would be a single action trigger pull...if your single action trigger pull on a double action pistol is heavier than ANY striker fired pistol, you need serious work on your trigger. If he is saying it is lighter than most double action trigger pulls, he would probably be right.

From the article:

7 lb 6.5 oz is probably lighter than most double action triggers.

My XDs .45 came home from its IL vacation today. I note the grip is a longer with the free magazine provided by SA and the slide may be just a tad bit wider, but I dry fired 9 rounds at 15 yards into a 1" group, so the upgraded accuracy seems to be better. I sent it to SA dirty since I was afraid to clean it out of safety concerns, but it came home clean and well lubed.

Actually, I cannot tell any difference at all. I had shot about 400 rounds through it before I sent it to SA. Per a Lyman digital trigger gauge, the pull averages 7 pounds, 8 ounces. The pull is smooth with a clean break without over travel. I will get it to the range ASAP and put a 100 rounds through it.

Included with the pistol and free mag was a note from Denny Reese and a card telling me to go to SA's web site to download the updated XDs manual or call SA to have one mailed.

If anyone is really unhappy with their XDs 9mm, I will take it off your hands for 300 bucks.

I may have misread because I am on my phone, but how do you "dry fire at 15 yards and get a one inch group?" :headscratch

When I measure the imaginary dry fire bullet holes the groups are always better than at the range. Gotcha. :evil2:

Status change:

Gun delivered to Springfield on September 5.

Showing "Fixed" on November 2.

They're starting to really crank through the backlog.

Perhaps it is because of the new slide mounted safety. :evil2:

You ain't the first to say that. Perhaps because I'm rogue US Army Retired after over 31 years of active duty. My initial post after I got my XDs ,45 back from SA was all in jest after having read on the XD Talk forum about how much different the XDs was post "upgrade." I put about 120 rounds through my fixed XDs ,45 today and find it to be substantially as before I sent it off to SA... the trigger pull seems just a bit higher than before but smooth with no over travel.

funny you should mention the "other forum". I always make it a point to register of a brand specific forum if I own any model of that brand, just in case I want to post a question. In the case of that particular "other forum", you have to be a registered member to access pictures. I bought my XDs a couple of weeks before the recall was announced and wanted to see the pic's in the "how to" threads, so I registered to have access to the "knowledge" but hadn't really had time to really put my new XDs through the wringer before the recall (actually caught wind of the recall on a totally separate forum the night it was announced on the 28th, and shipped mine on the morning of the 29th). Then I started following the chatter on the XDs sub forum. Wow, what entertainment  ! Kinda reminds me of the 4th grade.

Even though my XDs didn't come back with the upgrade slide from a Hi-Point, the trigger ended up at 8.8, which is a bit much .... I suppose I could take the time to slick up the sear and striker, and may do that if I ever get the time to even care. Even though this one was intended to eventually get into the carry mode, I had/have plenty of "carry guns" already so this one ain't gonna ruin my life if I decide I just don't like it (or it don't like me).

By the way, did you also get the $25 dollar discount coupon for the 50 round drum magazine?

JD... Nope on the higher quality High Point slide and the drum mag, the latter might come in handy if she goes full auto. 8.8 seems a tad high but I had readings all over the place before I wound up with a 7.5 average on 5 pulls. I have not yet rechecked after todays 120 rounds followed by a good cleaning.
