CrossBreed vs Alien Gear IWB
I currently have a crossbreed super tuck for my Glock 19. I have saw a few post about Alien Gear holsters. Does anyone have a preference for any pros or cons for each holster?

AlienGear made of heavier materials; very versatile; quick delivery; can exchange Kydex shells to use same backing for several pistols; easily adjustable retention; inexpensive; great warranty.
I sold my two CrossBreeds for more than I paid for AlienGear to replace them. Go figure!

Re: CrossBreed vs Alien Gear IWB
On 9-24-13 I ordered an AlienGear holster for my XDs. When I placed the order, the status was IN STOCK. On 10-7-13, I had not received any notification of shipping, so I sent an email to their customer service dept with my order number to inquire about it. Somehow, it got lost in the shuffle. The person who replied to my email was very apologetic and offered to throw in a set of leather loops for my trouble. That exceeded my expectations! I expect my new holster by the weekend.

Re: CrossBreed vs Alien Gear IWB
I have a number of different brands of hybrid IWB holsters 2 Crossbreed, 1 Old Faithful, and one K holster, and now an Alien.
They are all good holsters, I like the Alien better because I ordered the leather strap option and the holster is much more secure when removing the gun. I have had all ot the other brands with the clips pull loose from time to time.
I am seriously considering upgrading the others with Alien leather straps. The only complaint I have with the Alien is, the Kydex attachment for my straps had rough edges on the side next to the body needing a little filing.

Hey Mojo,
You might try the c-clips from Comp-tac...I switched my CrossBreed to them a while back and am very happy. Theycan mount to your leather on a lower point and allow for as much as an inch more tuck. They also multiply the height and cant options for your Supertuck or Aliengear.

Thanks for the tip RogueUSMC but, I have only tucked my shirt once and didn't like it. If I'm going someplace that I have to have my shirt tucked I carry my Snubby in a pocket holster.

Re: CrossBreed vs Alien Gear IWB
I just got an Alien Gear IWB. The metal clips dug into my slacks and gouged my belt. I have a Comp-Tac Spartan. I took the screws and clips (plastic) from the comp-tac and they fit just fine. I like the warranty and the wider set clip locations. Good retention and a smooth draw. I'm still breaking in the leather but I am a fan so far.

Re: CrossBreed vs Alien Gear IWB
Bought an Alien Gear IWB for my Bodyguard 380. I usually pocket carry this pistol but wanted another option. At just over $30, it was a no brainer. I have been very pleased with this way this holster fits and feels. As you can see in the photo, I removed the extra (un-used) grommets. They caught on my jeans as I walked or sat or stood so I just removed them once I got the ride height I liked.
Alien Gear sent the holster with a whole bunch of extra screws, grommets, and spacers so you should be able to adjust this thing any way you want it. It was in stock and took one week to deliver.
I'm thinking of buying some CompTac clips and putting them on this holster in place of the metal clips. I'll post an update if I do.
All in all, I don't think you can beat this deal for a holster.

Just saw this post about using CompTac clips on the Alien Gear Holster. I am going to do the same. Please let us know if you do it and how it works out.Reds45ACP wrote:I just got an Alien Gear IWB. Re: CrossBreed vs Alien Gear IWB
Received my Alien gear holster on Thursday...took it for a spin today at Lowe's with shorts and a t-shirt. Never felt uncomfortable and no problems. I think I'll keep her!
Re: CrossBreed vs Alien Gear IWB
I just wore my new Alien Gear tonight with my Sig SP2022 and it was great. I also have a Comp Tac Minotaur and honestly the Alien Gear holster fits better and is more comfortable for half the price. Not to mention as others have said they will switch out the Kydex for life if you switch weapons. For the price I'll just buy another holster. They are literally half the price of comparable holsters and come with a bunch of added screws and grommets for adjustment.
As an added benefit I had it in less than a week and I'm left handed. Any other company and I'd be waiting at least 3-4 weeks.
One of if not the best value in a holster out there.

Re: CrossBreed vs Alien Gear IWB
I've been carrying with it for 2 weeks. The leather has taken a set and I got the "right" setting for retention. It's comfortable. I actually had to carry for 32 hours straight (long story) I even slept in a car with it in place. No problems. Super comfy.
Two changes:
1) I swapped my comp-tac clips onto it and removed the extra screw grommets.
2) I had to use some gaffers tape on the top and at the trigger guard from the Glock rubbing the edge and causing it to fray at the edges.

The kydex looks a lot better than crossbreed. Is the thicker leather a problem?

It is thicker kydex. Good forming too.davenewman12 wrote:The kydex looks a lot better than crossbreed. Is the thicker leather a problem?
The only "problem" with the thicker leather versus the horsehide on my crossbreed is the break-in. You need to wear it for two or three full days before it sets for your pistol/carry position/body shape. After a week week you'll notice the set the leather will take.
