Also, TAM said that guns are banned New York. This is untrue. New York is a "may issue state". My uncle who lived in New York city paid the mayor (not the current one) $80,000 to help with his election campaign and gave a "gift" of $50,000 to the police chief (not the current one). After that, his application for a gun license got magically approved. It was rejected previously. He was allowed to carry one snub nosed revolver and loved brandishing it everywhere he went. You see, even in the countries with the most restrictive gun laws, the elites will always have priviledges that the plebes don't have. Such is the definition of a lack of liberty. LIberty is the equal application of all laws to all citizens. Japan has the most restrictive gun laws, yet, there are roughly 50 (give or take a couple) CHL holders in Japan. In China, I once saw a guy run a red light and speed while weaving through traffic. Then, the guy walks out of car while open carrying a pistol. The cops present smile and bow to him. He was the son of a high ranking Communist party official. In Hong Kong, if the police chief of the entire administrative region has to sign off on your CHL. Only Lee Ka Shing, one of the wealthiest men in the world and his sons, plus a few other rich guys and friends of the chief have a CHL in Hong Kong.
Even if you don't like guns, the equal application of gun laws is a litmus test for liberty. There are no countries where guns are truly banned. Guns are only banned for the plebians.
P.S. Texas, Alaska, and a few other Republican states are the closest to liberty you'll get on this planet. Our CHL costs $265 (state fees, range fee, gun rental, ammo, class). Poor people cannot afford this. That's why most CHL holders are in north Dallas and Plano while very few are in South Dallas. Poor people illegally carry and end up in jail when they have to use their gun to protect themselves. This is not liberty but $265 is not an insurmountable obstacle, even for someone on minimum wage. It is very difficult but not impossible to manage. $130,000 for a New York city CHL is insurmountable for most people. Keep in mind this was many years ago, so the fee for a CHL in New York is probably double that or more today.

I would have been on the phone with the cops explaining I will defend myself as needed *hint hint... get here quick* Nothing gets marked cars moving faster than a dispatcher reporting gunshots heard over the phone.
Mobs have zero reasoning, which is exactly why I keep a loaded AR with several magazines ready, as well as a 'go-bag.'
Most biker mobs across the nation (not all) clearly try to intimidate other drivers on the road. I pray that the driver recovers quickly, and that he invests in proper defense for his family soon. I also hope that the bikers involved get criminal charges.
