Holster "Test Drive" Library

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

A lot of folks, heck most of us, are always looking for a great holster. It doesn't matter if you've been carrying for years and are still looking for the holy grail of holsters, or a new guy/gal looking for your first holster. Few holsters are cheap, not good one anyway, so I've been thinking of a way to start a volunteer program that would make holsters available for people to try before buying.

If there's enough interest, I can start a new sub-forum where people can list the holsters they'd like to try, the gun they will be carrying, as well as their location. If a Member has one they will lend to that person, they can make arrangements to either meet or mail the holster. We'd have to set some rules and guidelines such as requiring the borrower to email their identification to the lender, if they haven't established themselves as an active Member. I wouldn't want to send a holster to someone who just joined unless I felt pretty certain I knew who was getting it.

I made this a poll so I can gauge interest. Obviously, I don't need anyone to vote "no" so that option wasn't included. This is just a preliminary inquiry, so don't read anymore into this post.

I wouldnt mind if someone local wanted to meet me and try mine on. I have two of the most popular for the same gun so I would be glad to loan one out for a trial period.
I love the sound smell of jet fuel in the morning.

My wife has bought a few trying to find the one she loves, we would be willing to let others take a test drive before making a monetary commitment for one they don't like.

I am good for locals. Great Idea.

Not sure how many I have tested from Cabela's and returned. :)

I'm up for locals in the SATX area - PROVIDED - they've been around here awhile - not much in favor of meeting a noobie, one poster wonder - just for my personal security/safety.

I'm a holster addict with a beer box full.
