I agree on the J Frame. There are 9's that you can fit in your pocket, like the Kel Tec PF9, Ruger LC9, Kahr PM9, Taurus 709, etc. etc., but I don't find them idea for pocket carry. My S&W 642 works great, however, I usually carry my Ruger LCR in .357 (loaded with .38's).

The ultimate pocket carry is a Ruger LCP, but I'm not fond of the .380 round.

Good luck getting that into your average man's pockets.

It fits surprisingly well in most pockets (2" barrel). It's the weight that is the problem. Then again, I am no average man...

LOL.

I had a 2" with the bobbed hammer. Can't even imagine pocket carrying that thing.

Sure appreciate all the great feedback! There is a local gun show this weekend ill check out, handle a few, and see what I think. I'll keep you posted.

I carry a Diamondback DB9 in 9mm w/ an extra magazine in a RKBA kydex holster and this fits nicely in dress pants. The DB9 is not recommended for those without a lot of pistol usage. The only drawback is the slide is difficult to pull back but it's designed very much like a Glock of which I have three, two 27's and one 22 with lasers.

At work we wear tactical pants (5.11 mostly) which allow me to carry a XDSC 40 with no problems. With Jeans I carry a Berretta Nano 9mm or a LCP .380. I like pocket carry, I am able to stand or walk with my hands in my pocket and no one notices. With my hand in my pocket I can have a good grip on my pistol and be ready to draw it very quickly. I can draw and shoot faster than my friends who carry IWB and almost as fast a cop buddy can draw his duty weapon. Drawing in a seated position is more difficult so I usually keep my XD 45 close in my truck. The main thing is that your pocket must be large enough to allow you to grip the gun in your pocket, I had to change the style of jeans I wear to allow me to carry the Nano.

Until I receive my card in the mail, I've been practicing around the house with my Ruger LCR 38spl+P. The weight is great, doesn't move around or print in shorts, I feel it has plenty of pop even without +P, and I can carry 2 speed strips in my other pocket.

Well I went to a gun show today at the Belton Co. Expo center....decent show, small but good inventory. Anyway, I handled about every gun a could that would be a smaller framed pocket carry gun. The Shield felt good, not sure if I want to spend that much on an alternative carry gun. The kel-tec had a nice feel, certainly not flashy, but should go bang! The diamondback 9 had an ok feel, little small. Then Ruger seemed small. The LC9 may work, not sure. Nano was a nice little gun, can't imagine the Taurus slim in a pocket.

I have a Bersa Thunder .380 that is a great little shooter that is my alternate to my G19 when circumstances make it difficult to carry. I have a small holster for it that I believe I could pocket carry it in until I find a dedicated pocket holster. Going to compare some specs and see the differences.

Anyone pocket carry this weapon have thoughts on it and have any suggestions on a setup ?

1. No.
2. Keltec PF-9 with a carry clip works great and is 9 mm caliber. Another great choice is the SIG P938.

Going to grab a Taurus tcp .380. Have to wait until pay day....school shopping and a recent move, and having not sold my house yet has made things a bit tight!!

I have carried my Taurus TCP 738 for over a year now with a Blackhawk pocket holster. Sometimes I have to check to make sure it's there. I used to carry my Sig but it felt like a brick at the end of the day.

I have been carrying a Ruger LCP for about 5 years in a pocket holster, and almost forget that it is there.
