Hidden Hybrid Holster review
Hidden Hybrid Holster review
I just wanted to share my experience with my new holster. It is a Hidden Hybrid Holster that was made for my XD-40. First off, upon ordering the holster the website stated that the current lead time was 2-4 weeks. Much to my surprise I received the holster in 6 business days. This holster is awesome. It is both an IWB & OWB holster. You just have to remove the 2 clips, by removing the 2 screws, to convert it to OWB. The holster has a thick leather backing lined with suede. The kydex has tension adjustment and is beautifully shaped to the gun. I love everything about this holster. I am a big guy @ 6foot, 280lbs, and I wear it at the 3:30-4 o'clock position all day without any discomfort. Shipped to my door it cost me $59.10. Im going to try and upload some pictures.

Re: Hidden Hybrid Holster review
This looks like a good concept and well executed, but the suede bugs me a little. Is it towards the gun or the skin?
Suede is less durable and softer than full grain leather, it also absorbs moisture at a much higher rate due to the open pores. I can't really see it holding up to holster use. If on the gun side, the constant wear of the slide is going to rip it, if on the skin side it is going to absorb sweat. There have been days I pulled off my horsehide holster and literally had sweat dripping off of it.
Let us know how it holds up.

The leather is very thick with a very, very thin layer of suede on the skin side of the holster. Not enough to even hold water. I'm a big guy and live in East Texas. We constantly have 100 degree temps. I have not found that the suede has made no difference. I'll update the review at the end of summer.

Thanks, keep us posted on how it holds up.
I have considered putting mole skin on the inside of my IWB horsehide holster but the sweat factor keeps me from doing so, maybe it isn't such a bad idea. I use an undershirt to keep it off my skin so it really isn't a huge problem, just for those times when I go without an undershirt.
