Wow this video is amazing. Kid is lucky. Sad he couldn't just get some dinner w/o some criminal doing a drive by. I showed it to somebody and he brought up a good point. He has been reading that there is talk floating around about the father and his actions or lack of action. He dove for cover leaving his son up on the table where the kid was shot in the arm. When the kid is holding his arm dad still doesn't get up to get his kid down. That does look pretty bad but he was probably scared out of his mind. They are both lucky. I sure hope they find the lowlifes quick.

drive by in Austin - 4 year old shot
Re: drive by in Austin - 4 year old shot
Dad did nothing to save kid. Seems weird to us, but standard fare for libs who believe in gun control and not self defense. You're supposed to cower and be a victim. Socialists don't believe in self defense because you are not an individual but a part of a greater whole. The perp who attacked is the left arm and it wouldn't make sense for the right arm to kill the left arm to defend itself. Socialists don't believe in individual rights, only group rights.texanjoker wrote:Wow this video is amazing. Kid is lucky. Sad he couldn't just get some dinner w/o some criminal doing a drive by. P.s. after viewing the video, I think I was too harsh on father. The boy did not just sit still, but was moving to safety along with father, so there's not much he could've done.

"Our houses are protected by the Good Lord and a gun, you might em both if you show up here not welcome son" Josh Thompson- Way out here (best song ever) "eventually all citizens will become criminals with enough legislation....."

Video says he was 8, not 4.texanjoker wrote:drive by in Austin - 4 year old shot
When the shooting starts, the father dives right AFTER looking to see his son going over the bench back and away from the initial gunfire. From the outside view of the restaurant and the shadows in the photo the kid may be going from being beside a window to behind a "solid" wall. The father is watching for the shooters and when he realizes the son is still standing, he pulls him down. I would say, considering the complete surprise, about what most people would do.

I had the same problem. After a delay, a commercial started on it's own, after which the video started on it's own. I think the trouble was the commercial loading. Leave it up for a moment, see if it'll get going.Ultra_Solo_Sig_0904 wrote:is there something special you had to do to play the video? I hope the investigation figures out what happened here. Watching the video doesn't give the impression these two were targeted for any reason.

I don't see any real negligence on the father's part. It would seem that the crime was random, which makes it pretty scary. The idea of not even having a chance to spot suspicious activity leading up to a shooting in a restaurant, since the shooting came from outside, is frightening. Being armed in this situation would have really done no good. Just goes to show how dangerous day to day life can be.
