Found ak47 need input

#1

Post by Daltex1 »

after driving all over Dallas, I found an ak47 made by century arms with a milled reciever(so the guy said) how do you tell if it is a stamped or milled reciever? also if it is milled is 500.00 a good price for it , it was a romanian wasr-10. Should I pick this one up or wait until I go to the gun show in Ft Worth tomorrow.Thanx to all that respond.

I thought that would be a stamped receiver and $500 seems high.

The early WASR-10's would accept only a ten round mag, though later ones accept regular mags.

I think you can pick up a serviceable AK variant for less than $350.

I am by no means an AK expert - I am not even a novice yet (i.e. haven't bought one), but I done some serious looking around at about a dozen internet sellers, and $500 seems high for a WASR to me.

Good luck.

$500 isn't high for current milled reciever AK's. If it's a WASR, it is high priced, if it's a gun & 1 mag deal for a shooter not some collector. Good luck on the AK trail.

Old post, but I'll respond. Many Chinese Norinco , even stamped, go for more than 500.00 every day.

Milled = machined = NO RIVETS!

The WASR-10 is a Romanian import, its a stamped/riveted reciever

I have one and it shoots and shoots and shoots...in fact it LOVES the ultra low quality WOLF stuff out there

Here is a picture of my lil darlin
Image

I got mine from Pruetts guns and ammo

Yah the scope mount is like putting lipstick on a pig..but it allows me to keep all 30 rounds in a 8-12" circle at 100 yards

$500 is WAAAAY to much

I *heart* my WASR-10

Love my WASR-10, paid around $400-something for it. I just use the iron sights so far. I like that I can ammo-swap with my Norinco SKS, too. My WASR-10 came with a bayonet, but it doesn't want to fit the bayonet lug for some reason. The shop that sold it to me said it's pretty much a crap shoot when it comes to the extras sold with their AKs...it could be it's a Russian bayonet trying to fit that Romanian gun, etc. Also, the sling that came with it didn't fit it--the D-ring was too narrow. So I put that sling on my Yugo SKS instead, where it works just fine. I went out and got a nice "Tatical" sling for the WASR-10 instead. My experience so far has been that WASR-10s are in the $400s, while a nice Yugo AK with silvery charging handle is upwards of $500-$600 USD, while the synth black Bulgarian beauties are all $600+ but still way cheaper than an AR-15. If I was going to spend in the $500 range, I'd pick up a nice Yugo AK, maybe an underfolder.
