Which has nothing to do with this thread or this case
Seems to me that since it's the same Fire Marshal using the same M.O. to successfully shut down another range, commercial one this time, that the incident is relevant enough to qualify for a posting in this thread. (But feel free to report it to a moderator if you disagree.)
Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target."

It sounds like a severe case of Napoleon complex.

I can understand that. Heck it might be that discretion is the better part in this case and you shouldn't have the 20 people over shooting legal or not. I think tho his comments about your father in law and the threats to deny a permit on a totally separate issue cross the line and it may be worth having an off the record conversation with your County Commissioner or Judge. Maybe you can get it so he backs off a bit and you let him know that any gatherings will be much smaller.
My father and I have discussed the issue of maybe doing like 5 or so people out at a time. Normally when I have a lot of friends come over, I don't even get a chance to shoot, doing more RSO stuff and talking and chatting with friends. My dad's health has been hit pretty hard, been in the VA all week and might get released next Tuesday, hopefully. So the shooting has been taken to the back burner. On a side note, today would have been an awesome day to go shoot!

Enforcing fire codes on a business is not what was done here so no I don't think it's the same thing. I don't care what qualifies, I only responded because you posted with my comment.
