Do you have a link regarding this? What was the man doing that made her reasonably fear death or severe injury? And in what state did it happen?philip964 wrote:It was reported today on the radio that Quanell X is helping the woman who shot and killed the man in the filling station with a rifle avoid an indictment. He believes this was a clear case of "stand your ground" and she was well with in her rights to shoot and kill the man.
Was I just not paying attention on Sunday to what he was saying then.

Based on that, sounds like SYG to me. How'd she manage to grab a rifle without his stopping her? Since Mr. X is involved, i presume she's black? Minorities successfully use SYG far more often than whites.philip964 wrote:No. Hit her, made repeated verbal sexual advances and had a knife. Uh,oh. She shot at the ground and the bullet ricocheted . I don't think you can claim SYG for an ACCIDENTAL shooting.sjfcontrol wrote:Based on that, sounds like SYG to me. Sounds like he owed HER money, and that's why she was there. And she was worried about his friends so she left, but she took the time to take a picture of the pocketknife? It case gets muddier and muddier.

Not specific to that case but I'm wondering how somebody has time to get a rifle out of a car but not have time to get in the car and lock the doors? Maybe it would be smart to drive away and call 911. MWAumbrella
