Rifle shooting tomorrow morning - 7/6/13

#1

Post by Pawpaw »

In the morning, I'm going out to Top Gun outside Leonard to do some rifle shooting.

If anyone would like to join me, speak up! This is a good chance to stretch your shooting skills out to 500 yards, if you like.

I'll be shooting my M1 & M1 Carbine for the first time. I'll also be adjusting the mini red dot on my AR-15. I'll gladly share the joy of shooting all 3, if you're interested.

That sounds tempting, man. But I'm headed to Elm Fork on Sunday afternoon with TAB (The Annoyed Boy) to shoot ARs at the 50 yard line, and I have to conserve me ammo.

Let me get back to you. That's mighty tempting. I have to check with She Who Shall Not Be Obeyed to make sure it's OK. She's recovering from shoulder surgery and still needs some help around the house here and there. Going that far is a bigger time commitment than Elm Fork. Anyway, I'll get back to you.

Don't you mean "She Who MUST Be Obeyed"? :headscratch

Either way, that makes sense. I hope she continues to recover quickly.

I plan to be there at 9:00 AM so I can finish before it gets too hot.

The offer still stands to anyone else that is interested!

If you need to sight in a scoped rifle, I have a handy little device that will help adjust a scope so well it will almost always put the first shot on paper.

Hey Pawpaw.

Can I get a rain check on that deal? I would enjoy bringing my M1 out with you and yours, but it will have to be another time. The daughter and I just spent the day at the range yesterday doing handgun and rifles and Sunday I'm going to play some 5-stand. I gotta take tomorrow and get some things done around the house or 5-stand will be out.

At 100 yards, my first time, I hit the bulls eye once and the ten ring two more times with the M1 in 8 shots. Really liking that rifle. After a little more familiarity with it I'll enter some of those service rifle matches. I's going to try and push it out to 200 yards in a couple weeks.

Sure! No way this will be my last time to go out there. I blame you (just a little bit) for making me buy the M1! ;-)

Come on out! It'll be fun!

We should all start posting when we're going out to do some fun shooting. What better way to spend time making new friends and visiting with old ones?
