Took a week for me to get a "confirmation email" after I submitted my docs online, hope this means they are catching up.. Will be curious to see your "inbox to mailbox" date.

I know! I did the course with my Father, (2 for 1 deal on Groupon), and he submitted his the next day. Hadn't heard anything back on his.SPDGG wrote:Wow! Thats F-A-S-T !!!

It does seem to be a "one up" compared to mailing it in. You don't have to let it sit in their mail room for a week. They have a dedicated email box.

Wow, that's incredible. It took me 3 weeks or so to see an update from when I e-mailed my documents in early May. Congrats.

Mailed my stuff in 6/18, still no update on the DPS site.
I guess I should have sent it in electronically.

Re: Email is the way to go!!
My wife completed her class on Saturday, June 22 and we uploaded her docs via email that evening. Received email from DPS the following Monday that docs were rec'd and forwarded for processing. Website updated on Sat 29th that all docs received and BG under review. If all goes well, I would anticipate plastic in hand in 30 days or less.
Electronic transmission of documents is definitely the way to go, cuts 7-10 days out of the process.

Re: Email is the way to go!!
I snail mailed my appilcation the end of May and received my plactic the end of June, about 30 days mail box to mail box. My wife mailed her app about two weeks before mine. She is still stuck in background check (spotless record). I think you can have a quick process or slow process either way. From reading posts it appears to me that how fast you get your plastic depends on how long you spend in background check. I could be wrong but I don't think sending in your app by email will effect the background check speed.
Re: Email is the way to go!!
It seems to affect the initial update speed, though. Response time there is fairly important from a perspective of 'is it really in?'.

7/2/13, Bg cleared, I'm manufacturing.
I believe that it only updates once a day at 6am.
